Access is still available to the club via the Stevenage Road end of the lane.
We apologise for the late notice - we weren't informed!

User

Using mainly swimming pool. But I love the energy of this place. Lovely staff, clean space and the fact that after swim I cam have a power smoothie and study in the cafeteria it is a win win to me.

User

Odyssey Spa is by far one of the best I have been too. Last night I had a full body pregnancy massage & facial with Stephanie who was amazing & I had a full nights sleep with bump thanks to her. I have had numerous massages during this pregnancy in Dubai, Centre Parcs & Bath & can honestly say that Odyssey are by far the best! None of the masseuses hold back with worry or nerves they are always friendly, welcoming & professional. Thank you!!

User

New to this club but so far so good! Staff are all lovely and approachable and seem to have every piece of equipment needed (could do with a larger mat area ) spa is also lovely have had a few massages and facials and they are top quality. Highly recommend

User

I was not sure at the start as I was very nervous as not really a gym person. I been to a few classes now and people have been so friendly and welcoming . Going to start using a lot more and get into the classes . The Zumba is fab but you can never get onto a class which is a shame for new people .

User

I love this gym. The staff are fantastic and always on hand to help or give advice for free. I join in with the float fit class and it is brilliant. Talk about staying up to date with the latest gym fads - this one's a keeper!!! Thank you for supporting me in all my goals from getting me fit for my wedding last year to keeping me fit throughout my pregnancy this year! if you want to feel good about yourself and meet some lovely people it's a good place to go. Only downside is I can't come down enough as there is no crèche to leave my hound daughter in for an hour. This would be an amazing thing to offer and I know loads of new parents who would join if this was offered as part of your membership- even if it's just one hour a day.

User

Having previously been a member of Odyssey, there appeared an inevitability about rejoining 2 years later, having messed about at some cheaper monthly gyms.

The gym is short of state of the art equipment for the serious athlete- the Watt Bikes are tatty, free weights section lacks leg press / GHR but is perfectly adequate for the general person.

But what the gym lacks, the club makes up for in excellent customer service. Guaranteed a smile and welcome on entrance, staff are willing to go out of their way to help, and good cafe facilities.

Odyssey’s personable nature makes it stand above other big name chains and cheaper gyms. Somewhere you are happy to be whether you’re working hard or relaxing in the pool area.

User

Having joined Odyssey 5 years ago I have watched the Club going from strength to strength.

From the friendliness of reception staff to the very high quality of class instruction, plus the spa and refreshments areas, everything is becoming excellent!

Management is doing a great job, to be honest, making it a pleasure to be a member of the club. I strongly recommend anyone who is not already a member to join.

Had a spa day with a friend and daughter who had mum to be trearmtments whilst we had deep tissue massage staff were excellent very attentive and helpful food was good the whole day was a lovely experience can not recommend enough

User

Had a lovely day with seven friends to celebrate a birthday the staff were very helpful couldn't do enough for you we had the pamper and tea spa day at £45 fantastic value for the money will definitely be going back and might even join as a member. 😁

User

Couldn't be happier with the place. Have been a member now for over 5 years and am incredibly impressed with the direction the club is going in.

I frequently use the swimming pool and gym and have always found the staff to be polite and friendly. The cafe is a great place to unwind after a hard workout and the spa is just heaven!

Wish I had more time on my hands to visit more often - looking forward to retirement!!!

User

Best gym in the area indeed. Very clean.

The reason I left the previous one was because it was not clean. Odyssey health club is very clean.

Even the changing rooms are top class.

You can even relax there in the couch they provided. They have modernised the changing rooms, they look amazing.

Beginning of last year if not end of 2015, they bought new gym equipment. The equipment is amazing.

The cafeteria/eating area is amazing. Clean tables & chairs. Amazing healthy foods, cooked well.

The staff at reception welcome you with great smile when you walk in and they are always patient to answer all our questions and assist. Great team.

Like Lisa Irving said, the inductions as a starter are amazing.

And the monthly reviews keeps you in track.

I started going there 2 years ago, i was compliant and lost a lot of weight.

I was even given the holiday work-out by my gym coach.

But i got lazy after my holiday and spent more than 6 months without going. I did not cancel my monthly payments. I went back this January 2017 and I requested to be inducted again as I missed going to the gym most of last year.

I was given the same gym coach which is very helpful as he can track my progress. And he has put me in the new exercise regimen & food plan. Amazing.

I will stay consistent to reach my weight loss goal.

People ask me why I go to an expensive gym, i tell them I am happy there & have nothing to complain about. And the difference is not that much compared to other gym club they are talking about. Maybe a difference of £3-£5 which is not much really & this gym has everything compared to others.

They have swimming pool, Spa treatment, manicure and pedicure, and all you can ask for.

The Spa always have special offers, you can book yourself and your friends for some treat.

There are classes everyday that you can be part of.

Play grounds for tennis, etc. You can join any game you want.

Also lessons on diet every month that you can always book yourself for.

I love it.

User

Been visiting the gym with guest passes for two months and now I'm a member myself and the past week I have certainly taken full advantage of being able to come all the time. The idea of being coached the whole time with induction sessions and a workout being created for you certainly helps with actually seeing changes in yourself. Makes gym sessions 100% worth it. Started going to classes now as well and they are great also, very social and friendly (even when I am the worst at doing the activity in the room :') ) and I always have a nice time relaxing in the pool and sauna once I'm done. Nice atmosphere, great facilities but what sets this place apart from other gyms is the attention to each individual, not just paying to use equipment but you're paying for a great health club :)

User

A brilliant health club!

The classes have improved and become more challenging, and the staff are much more consistent and knowledgable.

I love the atmosphere on the gym floor, it isn't intimidating, and even when busy you can still access the areas you want.

It's very clean, and I can't wait for the refurbishment to start.

The cafe does lovely food, and the staff are always willing to go out of their way to help you!

I've been to 3 other gyms in Stevenage, and I now wouldn't change for the world!

User

Re joined this health club for the classes, slowly but surely the classes that I am able to do are being cancelled without consultation, I feel very disappointed with the decisions that have been made, because the guys that take these classes are fantastic and I have had amazing results doing these classes

User

The facilities look very good but I'm afraid I won't be joining. At £51 a month for off peak membership, it is simply too expensive (and Joining fees at any club are a joke in very poor taste).

A bit of constructive feedback for Odyssey. I came to the club yesterday to find out how much membership is because when I asked on FB was told you need to see me to understand my training needs. I only had a few minutes to spare and in that couple of minutes had the information I needed to make my decision. If you could have told me the prices when I asked via FB, you could have saved me the trip.

User

Odyssey was a fantastic club with great trainers, staff and members. The atmosphere was always good despite the facilities often looking tired...

Unfortunately in recent months the management appear to have done everything they can to alienate and offend members and staff alike. There is a horrible atmosphere there now, there have been some incredibly unreasonable and illogical actions against members, employee terminations, and general ill-mannered behaviour. Coupled with the continued lack of real investment in the facilities and the forthcoming planning development that (if approved) would cause further disruption and likely reduction in facilities then I would certainly not recommend anyone joining the club at this time.

It is a shame the management have destroyed what was a fantastic place to go every day...

User

I think you have possibly lost the plot - why not alienate your members by making your loyal employees out of work at extremely short notice and treat them incredibly unfairly, after all it's not them that we have all built up a relationship with in the classes and our time in the gym is it ! They are the customer facing staff of your business and had done an amazing job keeping us interested in coming back week after week and renewing our membership every year and that's how you repay there loyalty !!!!!!!

There are many reasons why people are leaving the club and going elsewhere - maybe you should look a little closer at your management skills !

User

I loved this gym!!! Then we was asked to fill in an online survey and management didn't like what we had to say.. The next thing members are getting memberships cancelled and staff have been really badly treated and staff have left or have been told not to come back.... Now a member at David Loyd in Stevenage and it's brilliant offer so much more and kiddie friendly!! PS love the fact staff and family of management are leaving glowing reports tells me your worried

User

I booked into the spa for a birthday treat with a friend and we were very disappointed by the freestyle deep tissue massage and it’s fancy description as advertised.

Management need to review the marketing description as it does not make it clear the type of treatment that will be given and we were lied to verbally by the spa director regarding what the treatment entailed upon booking over the phone.

When raising the complaint, we received a very rude/snobby response initially and then wanting to raise this further received the following response...

’’I’m a Director and shareholder of the business so I don’t have a ‘Manager’. You’re more than welcome to speak to my husband who is the M.D. of the business

Tiffany’’

Then further no response from Steven the M.D.

A company that truly values customer service...

Then further no response from Steven the M.D.

User
