Good luck with your new route!
He doesn’t ask for much. He’s always there – endless free taxis, unlimited babysitting duty, free car washing for life. But there’s one day that has to be just for him.
This Sunday, treat your favourite car-washer and babysitter to a gorgeous three course Sunday roast in the Road Hole Restaurant. Trust us, he’ll truly appreciate it. (Along with the spectacular views of the world-famous 17th hole and a special gift from us). Thanks Dad.
This weekend it's time for the Crail Food Festival. During Saturday and Sunday the finest food from Fife will be gloriously on display for all to see and taste. Our very own Executive Chef Martin Hollis will be there demonstrating the finest fayre from the kitchens of the Old Course Hotel. If you find yourself there. Hunt him out and say Hi. Have a great food festival everyone...
It's award time, and another gong for the Old Course team. This time we were very pleased to be honoured in the cHeRries Awards for Tremendous Learning and Development. Good hotel people need good ideas to make sure our guests become real fans. A big thank you to Anna and her team for making it happen. We're sure you'll feel the difference next time you're here. Well done team!
Delighted to be part of the Annual West Sands “Chariots of Fire Beach Race” celebrating the launch of new Beach Wheelchairs in St Andrews yesterday, a fantastic facility to have. A joint initiative between the St Andrews Local Tourism Association (Tourism St Andrews) and local charity The Hamish McHamish Foundation made this possible.
A fantastic venture!

There’s nothing finer and more bracing than a lively walk along the beach with man’s best friend. Even in the weather that would see the ducks retreating for shelter a brisk step out guarantees you’ll return with a ferocious hunger. Good job your trusty hound is more than welcome at Ham’s Hame. A bowl of water for him and a cheeky ale for you with something extra hearty from the kitchen. The fire’s on, see you there.
We’re proud as punch to announce our glorious course - The Duke's has been awarded the Silver flag by The 59 Club for our levels of service and hospitality.
You should try it out for yourself…The bacon rolls and coffee always taste better with views like this.
We held our daughters wedding reception at the Old Course Hotel on 19th May 2018. We cannot thank all the staff enough for making this day the best day for all who attended.
Everyone who attended were astounded at not only the perfect setting, but also the excellent staff who may have been just doing their job but made you feel that it was their pleasure to make the day so special for all.
Special thanks need to go to Harry, the restaurant manager who went above and beyond to be there in person for our daughters day. And also Lynsey, the wedding coordinator who dealt with everything thrown at her with a calming manner and even tracked down the brides mislaid bouquet, sending a courier to retrieve it from the church.
We can only thank you for doing your part in making the day so special for us all

We came to the old course hotel as we had an itison voucher and it’s been somewhere i really wanted to try! We had a lovely time, the spa was amazing, the treatments we had with Natalie and Shona were brilliant, very relaxing and they did an amazing job! From our hotel room, dinner, lunch, staff, all top class and would highly recommend! really looking forward to coming back at some point and enjoying another weekend away!
Stayed 1 night and it was excellent. Free glass of Presseco on arrival, Bedroom was beautiful, spacious and spotlessly clean. A staff member came and offered to turn the bed down and with a complimentary large bottle of waster. Spent most of the afternoon in the pool and Spa which was excellent , only complaint was most people of the showers were cold. Didn’t get any treatments as they were very expensive but the particularly loved the rooftop spa! Definitely be back!
Played the old course yesterday - brilliant course! Started off the day with cup of tea and a roll at the little pavilion great service and all staff helpful and friendly. After golf we had lunch in hotel again can not fault staff and service as was very good. We had an excellent day and can’t wait to return again! 5 star experience!! 👍
My mum and I stayed over at hotel for the spa package and it was amazing from start to finish. The staff were all lovely and friendly from entering at reception to the girls in the Spa. We both had a great time and would love to come back! 😆😁xxx
My husband and i stayed over last night in a lovely well equiped room. We had afternoon Tea, Dinner and Breakfast in the hotel and all were absolutely delicious. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. The communications i had with Francesca were also first class and the booking was straight forward. The staff also acknowledged that i was celebrating a special birthday and presented me with chocolates and the end of our evening meal. All in all a very delightful and positive experience. A very big thank you to everyone at the hotel for making my stay a memorable one. Will definitely be back for another stay.
I was with my daughter for a spa day it was excellent the best I have been too the facilities are off a very high standard and and a lovely experience would recommended it to all my friends
I took my wife away for the night and from when we arrived the staff couldn’t be more helpful. Prosecco on arrival and complimentary champagne and canapés were delivered to our room. Was upgraded free of charge overlooking the old course what a place. First class
I have had the best spa day ever, beautiful place! lovely helpful staff, cracking lunch. I would definitely recommend., thank you
Had a spa day at the Old Course yesterday with my sister for my birthday. Was so relaxing and the massage and facial was amazing. Feeling so relaxed today. Will definitely be back
Gorgeous hotel, splendid views and very friendly and efficient staff, from reception staff, concierge, staff in the Road Hole bar and Jigger Inn. Ate in Jigger Inn and the food was excellent as was the service. A very enjoyable experience.
First time stay. Had a wonderful relaxing time. Room was beautiful and the bed extremely comfortable. Dinner was superb and breakfast was the best ‘hotel’ one we have had. Staff were a treat, courteous, helpful and extremely pleasant. Loved our dip in the pool in the morning.....and getting it all to ourselves was an added bonus. It was a wonderful relaxing overnight which was a gift from our family for part of my 60th birthday. Hope to return.
Excellent spa the best I have been too!
The service food and atmosphere was brilliant. Will recommend to others and go back when I can!
Between the history, the location, the appointments around the hotel and the service, the Old Course Hotel has zero rivals. In particular, the restaurant manager Grant Ross went out of his way to provide us with a truly personal experience. The food and drink selections are unmatched and the spa facility is amazing. This is a bucket-list level stay that golfers and non-golfers alike should experience.
Always been on the bucket list and wasn't disappointed ,upgraded to a suite on arrival overlooking the golf course ,service was first class ,food five star ,road hole lounge terrific atmosphere don't miss out on this
The staff are what makes this hotel. From the concierge to the reception, to the road hole to the jigger inn. To the girls and boys at the take that tribute nite last nite. Only thing was we wanted to use the spa but its been closed due to refurbishment and we weren’t made aware of this. Hope to be back tho in March!
Birthday treat for my husband, absolutely wonderful hotel, gorgeous bedroom, amazing shower, fabulous comfy bed and extremely friendly and helpful staff. Only reason I gave 4 stars was we had dinner in Sands and it was just OK and no atmosphere in restaurant. The starters were bland and the risotto was tasteless and mushy, definitely not 5 star hotel quality! However the seabass and my husbands liver dish were lovely. Breakfast in the road hole restaurant absolutely fantastic with so much choice and cocktails in road hole bar amazing. Would have been 5 stars if only our meal had been better!!
Another fabulous day, staff attentive, room beautiful, big let down was the food , very average, starter ok, main not good, beans hard ,chicken tasteless, desert ok.
Wine very nice, but all in all a good venue for this event.
There is no doubt that this is a beautiful hotel in a beautiful setting. We came for our anniversary, my husband booked through a third party but he just paid for a basic room, as a surprise I contacted the hotel and advised as was our anniversary I wanted to upgrade to a room with a view, I did this over the phone with a lovely lady called Francesca, the room I cannot fault the view was amazing and my husband was delighted. The staff were helpful and polite. Unfortunately despite the hotel knowing, there was no acknowledgment of our anniversary, no upgrade to a suite (apparently folk who complained about no spa access can get those but not if you’re there as a special occasion), no bottle of wine or fruit bowl or plate of chocs!! Seemingly our face didn’t fit, which is a shame because we tagged in an extra night in St Andrews at the Fairmont and despite saying it was our anniversary the day previously we still got complimentary prosecco and chocs with our evening meal!! Suffice to say we will return to the Fairmont, not so sure about the Old Course, especially given you’re expecting folk to fork out £40 per day per person to use your new spa - or did we pick that up wrong? Please work on your guest relations, people who complain shouldn’t always be treated better than folk looking for a special visit.
