Below is information passed to us from Bear Scotland.
A99 THRUMSTER- CARRIAGEWAY RESURFACING Please be advised that BEAR Scotland, acting on behalf of Tansport Scotland, are planning to carry out essential resurfacing works on the A99 Trunk Road at Thrumster. The works are programmed for construction from Monday 8th April to Tuesday 16th April, between the hours of 7am and 7pm each day, with no weekend works currently planned.... To ensure the safety of the workforce and members of the travelling public the carriageway will be subject to traffic management during the above hours, with temporary traffic signals and a 10mph convoy system in place. Access to properties will be maintained however some minimal disruption is inevitable due to the nature of the works. A 30mph speed limit will be in place out with the working hours to ensure vehicles can safely pass over the temporary road surface. BEAR Scotland wish to thank the local community in advance for their patience during these essential works.

Wow, what can I say about the Old Smiddy? There is something very special about the Old Smiddy & there is a magic that happens as soon as you walk in the door. Sometimes it's a wee bit overwhelming & can not be explained. We are from Australia & will be back in September for great company, great food & great Whisky. We love the Old Smiddy & it's magic

While on holiday for a week in Thrumster... last Saturday we had a lovely evening in front of the fire staying nice and toasty while having a few drinks in a really homely atmosphere. On Friday we had a lovely meal the evening before heading home. Ordered a main and pudding and had to ask for some time between our courses as the portions are large... this was no problem at all... thoroughly enjoyed our scampi, macaroni and sticky toffee pudding. Spent the rest of the evening having drinks and being entertained with all the banter from the locals. Will definitely be back if we're in the area again x

There was a group of us and all the meals were perfect. I was delighted that roast chicken was on as their stuffing is so good. I had fresh turnip, fresh carrots and fresh cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes, mash potatoes and loads of chicken. A wonderful dinner and the log fire made it so cosy. This is the place to go for an evening.its tops.
