We drove from Edinburgh yesterday to this pool and our kids had a great day, I watched from the gallery and the facilities are fab! The showers were hot and changing rooms were really spacious and very clean. Would definitely drive back up for another visit, was worth the road trip

User

My son had his 8th birthday party on the 10th June. Lifeguards who were in charge of the inflatable and ensuring kids had a great time were fab. Kids loved the banter Nicki had with them, throwing water at them when coming off the inflatable slide as well. Would highly recommend inflatable pool party to any parents.

My son attended the rookie life guard session today at the Olympia and he loved it! So much so he wants to come back again tomorrow. While we were there picking him up my two toddlers and my 3 year old niece had lots of fun doing the activities put on for drowning prevention week. Everyone even came home with goodie bags and lots of info on how to stay safe around water. Thanks very much!

Hi I used to go to the old Olympia where the new v&A is.

The new baths are not the same now.

The chutes leave a lot to be desired the old ones you sat on a mat and could sit a watch as you went down.

Now you have too go on it backways and it is pitch black, you get knocked about and it is a relief when you finish.

It is a rubbish experience now.

I haven't been on the yellow one but it looks like you are only allowed on it backwards also so when you come out you will get a back flap.

The old one you could go out head first so you ended up diving into the pool.

When the yellow chute is on you can't even go on the middle or top boards.

I like the middle diving boards but everytime I'm there when the boards are open.

The yellow chute in on.

Who designed this tragic place as its a design disaster.

It is like Russian roulette to see if you can get on the boards or not.

We are meant to move on but the new Olympia is like going back to the middle ages.

Pathetic.

We took our daughter here yesterday afternoon. We were charged the standard entrance fee despite there being nothing on there - no slides on, no waves, whirlpool roped off etc. I asked the lifeguard why everything was off and his response was " the kids are all at school but they'll get switched on at 4pm" to which I pointed out that not every customer that comes here was a school aged child obviously as we were there alongside quite a few others. My point is this....if you are not going to provide your visitors with the standard attractions of the swimming pool then you should NOT be charging them the standard full price! Has it occurred to you that maybe you're other guests might want to go whilst the schools are in and might like to enjoy the flumes etc? Quite disappointed.

User

Well I took my family on Saturday for a lovely family day out at there favourite swimming pool. Only for my daughter to end up with a broken nose ’┐Į she was sent down the red slide as the the light went green to say it was clear only to find out another two children were stuck in the slide my daughter went right into the back of the boy. So instead of her coming off the slide happy she came off crying covered in blood. We ended up having to leave the pool and take her to A&E after spending 2hours in A&E she has been referred to ENT department. All this swimming had to say was sorry and ordered us a Free family swim. Think this is disgusting

User

Water is freezing and the manager was rude. You struggle to get a changing room big enough for a family because everyone else uses them and itŌĆÖs not manned. My 2 year old slipped and they didnŌĆÖt have a clue what to do. The life guards are helpful and friendly, thatŌĆÖs the only reason I gave 1 star. I wonŌĆÖt ever be back.

User

Took my little sister (13) and 2 children (1 and 2) to Olympia today.

First off I was told that I couldnŌĆÖt go in with all 3 of them unless my son and daughter were wearing armbands or using a flotation device.

They provided one for my daughter in the end although it was too big and we took it off once inside.

Then, once in the pool, the toddler pool was out of use due to another child doing a poop and containing the water. Now I understand that this wasnŌĆÖt OlympiaŌĆÖs fault. It happens, however it was closed whilst I was at the till paying to get in, a heads up would have been nice so as I could have re arranged to come back another day.

We went into the wave pool instead. It was massively overcrowded for starters. There was no way the life guards on duty could have truly been watching everyone in the pool. Massive safety concern! But hereŌĆÖs the real kicker. when a lifeguard did see a bit of mischief, he whistled in at two young girls who were with their father. They clearly didnŌĆÖt know he was whistling at them and didnŌĆÖt acknowledge his whistle blast. He shouted to the dad to control his kids better, then looked over the pool to his colleague, then said ŌĆ£f***ing hellŌĆØ over the pool to him.

I seen this, got the attention of his colleague and asked for the lifeguard team leader/manager. The life guard who swore came across as the ŌĆśsenior lodge guardŌĆÖ on duty.

I challenged him about his language whilst there was plenty of children about and he just shrugged.

I will not be going back to Olympia again. It was a catalogue of errors from the minute we walked in and customer service from the staff is non existent.

Perth leisure pool is far, far superior.

User

Took my kids to Olympia today knowing it was school holiday and it would be busy but I honestly didn't expect it to be as bad as it was. Surely there is a limit to the number of people they're allowed at once. The kids pool was so full you could barely move and keep up with the kids as you couldn't get past all the adults making it impossible to keep a good eye on them. When the waves started there were so many people in that pool there was no way the lifeguards could supervise properly. The whirl pool was unbelievably dangerous. I spent the whole time as a panicked wreck and couldn't wait to get my kids out of there. I'm surprised there hasn't been a serious accident in that place if they let it get that busy. Plus the place was freezing both in and out the pool. Definitely not recommending to anyone and will not be returning. Would rather make the trip to Perth instead x
