Our talented lead server Florian has shared his family Mulled Wine recipe with us!
'Created by my aunt as a replacement for red mulled wine, since my Grandmother never liked red wine but is a big fan of White Wine. This was first served on her 75th Birthday, it is now a tradition we serve at our winter family reunion!'

Went with the intention of having the Sunday carvery buffet but it was extremely busy so decided on the a la carte menu, good choice. Great food, great band, will be back. The only thing that bugs me, the 10% service charge, there were only two of us, didn't require much attention.

Welcome drinks in bar , helpful and attentive,bar staff, market menu excellent value delicious ..extras for chips and veg...feel should be included and add on price...however as we had to send back our chips as they were overcooked...we were offered them free ...and were given a fresh batch FOC

Puddings were delightful and the service and attention were very good

Long conversation about wine which the waiter was very interested in and knowledgeable Explained about Jazz Sunday Lunch which we will return for . All restaurants do a Daily deal but this is 5 star at only 16 pounds for 2 courses or 21 pounds or 3 courses....go and enjoy ! x

We had Afternoon Tea. It was the new March menu and sensational! The setting was perfect overlooking the Castle and the Usher Hall. The table was beautifully set out. We had the choice of tea - 10 small jars of loose leaf to open and smell and pick from. Water was poured from an old Russian urn add more atmosphere to the occasion. A surprise starter of pear cubes and presseco jelly on a spoon heighten your expectation. The actual food was the most tasteful selection of sweet delights. And then finished off with a selection of beautiful scones. The 2 hours flew by with staff going beyond duty for us. Ten out of ten

We are regulars for Sunday lunch at One Square as it's always great. This year our whole family of 11 went for Christmas Dinner and it was fabulous. Food was stunning and plentiful, staff were full of good spirits and excellent service and the environment was as beautiful as usual. Thanks to all at One Square for our perfect Christmas evening!

We Dined at the Pass in the kitchen last night. Was an amazing experience, 7 course tasting menu designed for the two of us, with paired wines. Amazing food and wine and excellent attentive staff. Such a special night, highly recommend for a special treat!

Took my dad for a gin tasting, really amazing and the bartender was so knowledgeable, took around 1.5 hours and well worth it, got to taste 4 gins with matched tonics, each one very different from the rest, One Square’s own gin was lovely and I will be buying a bottle when it is for sale, will definitely go again. Service was great, attentive but never rushed

The gin tasting with Mert was excellent. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, fabulous gins and a little bottle of One Square gin to take home , a lovely touch to round off a great experience. Would definitely recommend this when in Edinburgh.

Myself and friends booked in for the gin experience on Saturday! We would highly recommend it Aliste talked us through 4 Gins and recommend tonics to go with them, she also told us the history behind the gin! At the end you get to take away with you a bottle of their very own gin (this gin was our favorite out of the 4) a great thing to do on a girls holiday or with friends or family! �

My husband and I took advantage of the pre theatre offer before attending the Edinburgh royal military tattoo. The food was amazing done to a very high standard. The staff were exceedingly professional there are not words to commend them enough. I could not recommend the one square highly enough.

Mert! We travel often. We always visit the bar for a quick bite on occasion and drinks in the evening. So let's talk about Mert. Not to take away from any of the other servers and bartenders who were all amazing...but Mert stood out. Let me share why. His greeting is genuine and real. He is happy to see you and more than happy to show you the ways of Scotch and that is what my husband was in Scotland for. But there is more about Mert than Scotch and drinks. He loves what he does...he loves the customers. He wants you to have a wonderful time!! We are fun travelers. We do a lot of pictures and this year we had bought a teddy bear at the Royal Britannia. We were taking pictures of the bear all over the country and putting it on FB for our friends to follow. We asked Mert if he would be willing to put him on the bar so we could take pictures. Not only did he do that but he posed with him. What a great sport he was. Mert is the kind of person that you don't forget once you have left the facility. He put smiles on our faces and made us feel like family. So let's all toast to Mert!!! Thank you so much and my husband especially thanks you for the wonderful lessons in scotch. He truly learned from you!

Just fabulous. We went for the tasting menu and it is incredible. The service was perfect as well. Definitely recommend for anyone wanting something that little bit different but satisfaction guaranteed. Will be back.

Have just finished the Gin tasting session. Very impressed & highly recommended. We were treated so well by all the staff and Scott was so knowledgeable and extra kudos for keeping 9 women in check at once! I would highly recommend this for gin lovers and anyone who wants a glamorous setting to have some fun with friends! Thank you Scott for taking care of us.

Had dinner here on Friday evening as part of the dine and show package with La Clique at the Speigeltent.



The Trout Starter and the Beef main were excellent and far exceeded my expectations. The service was top class even with a very busy restaurant with some tables catering for 20+ diners.

Had a lovely experience at one square, food was amazing, staff were so attentive and nothing was to much trouble. Breakfast so much to choose from, loved the fact you could have ya eggs cooked to order in front of you.

As I was away from home for my birthday (and love gin), I booked myself in for the Caorunn afternoon tea. The food was fabulous, the staff were polite, attentive and they all smiled, which makes such a difference! For a (very) small supplement I was able to have both tea and cocktail, and I received a complimentary glass of champagne and hand made chocolates to finish.

Everything was delightful, from the 'we love gin and tea' ribbon on the napkin, to the very last sip of gin fizz!

Always a lovely restaurant ,lovely décor ,and the flat iron steak and peppercorn sauce is to die for , loved the two cocktails we had but couldn't remember name ,specialty cocktails .

6 of us had a 2 hour gin tasting experience here for my Mum's 70th birthday. It was all just perfect. It's great to hear about the type of gin, the way it's made and what's best to have with it.

Our bartender , Leah was fabulous, making my Mum feel really special on her birthday. She brought out a beautiful plate with 6 chocolates on it with Happy Birthday drizzled on in melted chocolate. Even the fact that her name was Leah was special and a little emotional for us all as that was my Gran's name. So although she is no longer with us, it somehow felt that she was with us a little and enjoying the fun. It was all meant to be.

Leah gave us enough time to sit and enjoy the 4 different gins in the beautiful surroundings of the One Square bar.

I would definitely do this again and would recommend it to anyone.

Staff were very welcoming and attentive. I had a sore throat and our waitress gave me hot water with honey and lemon which was a nice touch. They also catered for my friend who had a cream intollerance. The only negative was the scones - they were rock hard, more like biscotti and we ended up leaving them.
