Open Road Scotland Motorhome Hire

We had a great week away in the Lowlander 664. A great size for my family and very easy to drive. John and Andy were very nice to deal with and extremely helpful when showing us round the van. We went to parts of Scotland we had never been to before and would definitely hire from Open Road Scotland again.

Highly recommended. Andy and John were both incredibly helpful throughout the whole process. The motor-home was in great condition and we had no issues with it for the whole week that we had it.

Owner is extremely nice and helpful. We hired one of their High Top VW vans and honeymooned in Scotland, this is a great way to get out in nature and experience the Scottish outdoors. We couldn't have asked for more. The van was well equipped with kitchen, fridge and comfy bed. everything worked as it should and was very clean and well maintained. I highly recommend Open Road Scotland to anyone looking for adventure in Scotland.

We hired the Islander van - such a pleasure to drive especially on Scotland's single track roads. At only 6 metres you can park it most places. It is well equipped - no plastic plates here! The rear of the van is a lounge which converts to a bed but we kept it as a bed the whole time - you can lounge up front with the swivel seats.
I had recently hired from another company and there had been problems so I was nervous of hiring again. I need not have worried. Open Road Scotland are a very professional company but with the added bonus of also being very friendly.

We hired the escape 696 with our three kids and dog Murphy. It was superb. A brilliant week away up in Arisaig exploring and chilling out. Our first time in a motorhome and I would definitely do it again. Andy and his staff were brilliant from initial enquiry, to pick up and drop off. The motorhome was spotless and spacious and the whole process was hassle free. We will definitely book again through open road. For all those people out there who haven't tried it then you have to give it a go ! A holiday filled with brilliant memories.

A wonderful way to see the lovely countryside of Scotland.

He took the time to explain the great features that the home was equipped with and gave recommendations on where to visit. Would certainly recommend anyone wanting to do this route or hire a motor home to tour Scotland use Open Road Scotland as they won't be disappointed.

Personalized service is hard to come by these days, but Andy and his team provided it! We hadn't traveled in an RV (or in Scotland) before but we were given great instructions and suggestions for our trip. The RV, once we got used to the narrow roads and driving on the other side (OK, actually we never really got used to the narrow roads...) the experience of driving around Scotland in an RV was perfect. The size of the Lowlander 664 was perfect for us (2 people)-- it was amazing being able to free camp at any beautiful pullout around the Isle of Skye. We used the RV for seven nights and only had to camp at caravan sites for dumping/refilling twice. Bought fresh local salmon and had a picnic using the BBQ, table, and chairs provided with the RV. A great experience, and a great company!! :)

We hired a van for 5 days in October. The pick-up was very easy with no hassle with insurance or extras, as with normal car hires, and took just a few minutes to sign paperwork and to be shown where everything was in the van. The van was clean, ran very well, was very fuel efficient and had everything we needed for the trip. Getting a lift to the train station after we returned the van was also a nice touch.

Just back from an amazing trip away in a low lander van from Open Road and we were delighted with the van and the service provided by Andy. The van was in pristine condition and while Andy went over the basic functions of the van with us, it was extremely useful to have had the instructions and checklists emailed to us prior to the trip as we were able to refer to them on my phone while away!! Excellent value for money and excellent service. I would definitely recommend this company and will be hiring from them again. Looking forward to our next trip......Alyson and Ron Renwick

The open road experience was fantastic. This was my first trip and certainly wont be my last. I had the pleasure of driving the Fiat escape 664, its a great motor to drive, extremely comfortable and gives you a feeling of being safe on the road, wish it was mine :-)

We hired one of Andy's motor homes in August after toying with idea for quite a while. We have always wanted to travel around Scotland, but my wife was not so keen on the camping idea. The motor home was superb .... immaculate and modern. Andy was fabulous throughout the booking process and had us quickly on our way.

We travelled north and over to Skye and Lewis and Harris and had the most wonderful holiday. Our 7 year old thought it was the coolest thing ever and my wife loved the freedom and the luxury of the van.

I have no doubt in my mind that we'll book with Andy again. Thanks for a marvellous service and a holiday to remember.
