During the interwar period, forty five vessels of the German High Seas Fleet scuttled in Orkney Scapa Flow, were re-floated and salvage in one of the greatest marine salvage feats of all time.
As the vessels emerged from the depths, many of the important structures were left behind on the sea bed.

The ORCA team have been creating further 3D models recording the nousts in Birsay, Orkney.
These models not only record an archaeological site in great detail for future reference and baseline comparison, but they also enable the team to evaluate a site very rapidly and in a cost effective and efficient way....something that our clients are finding more and more appealing
