We had a fantastic meal last night; the service was excellent and the fresh quality of the food evident. My wife had a risotto which was very tasty and I had a pasta dish which was heavenly. True Italian food in a lovely, clean and bright environment - we will definitely be back.

Paolo and his staff have never disappointed and his new venture is another step in the right direction for Galashiels.. a lovely bright and airy restaurant with a warm welcome and a tantalising selection of dishes that are a bit different to whats on offer in the rest of town. The food itself was delicious and well presented and it was served with friendly efficiency that is also lacking in some of galashiels other eateries. The only down side was that as I was driving I was unable to sample the wine list...a great excuse for a return visit...3 cheers for Paolo and his team!

I've had take away meals before when visiting family in Tweedbank.

This is the first time and it won't be the last ; the food was first class as was the service;

It is a very modern , spacious dining room with quality furnishing.

As I'm over 21,I've eaten Italian in GB, USA and Italy , I must say this ranks with the best ; delicious.

Locals need to get themselves along

Had a takeaway from Paulo's tonight. Seriously Couldn't recommend this place enough! The food was out of this world! Absolutely amazing! Best place in The Borders by far!!

Had a lovely meal here with friends on Sunday, fantastic food and service, we will be back. I was amazed we had the place to ourselves most of the evening, get yourself along here people!

Great food. The starters where massive, the pizza was best pizza I have had for a long time and my wife loved her wild boar parpadeli!

First visit tonight after wanting to come for ages and after rave reports from my parents. Food was delicious. My son chose breaded chicken goujons from the kids menu, when they came they were battered and he didn't like them, he ate the chips and some of his sister's pizza. The waitress asked if everything was ok, I explained he didn't like them as thought they'd be breaded. She took the plate away and came back to say we wouldn't be charged for them, can't say fairer than that AND much better customer service that we've received in local restaurants. Will definitely be back. Thank you.

First time at Paola's, best Italian ever! Lovely place, great staff and fabulous food. The antipasti to share was tremendous and the king prawn with almond/basil linguine special was just superb. Do yourself a favour and get along there.

Excellent food and atmosphere. Service can be a bit slow when busy but not enough to ruin your night. Only small gripe I have is the red wine is served almost chilled, but other than that I would recommend to everyone.

Enjoyed another excellent meal at Paolo's last night, and once more had guests with us who gave their meal full marks. Waitress was very polite and helpful and Paolo stopped to have a chat. Could not fault service or quality of meal.

The reason I am giving 3 stars is because the pizzas were actually very tasty. We pre-ordered 8/10 pizza one lunch time to have a treat at work. The service was awful.... the way the staff talked to my colleague was down right disgraceful. The chicken and mushroom pizza had no mushrooms and the pulled pork was also non existent - 'oh sorry we ran out of pork so we used ham' - no excuse when tesco is 5 minutes away. No discount offered and so we will be trying other establishments to spend best part of £80 at lunch time which we do approximately 4 times a year..... As I said the saving grace was the pizza were actually very good.

Food was really good however service is really slow. Was here in December last year and about a month ago and still the same, wasn't even that busy the last time but took forever for drinks and food.

There were only 5 tables in and our drinks order wasnt even taken for 25mins of being sat down. After another 20 mins finally 2 of the 3 drinks we ordered came... and 1 meal...! My friend had finished her meal by the time the other 2 meals came! One meal was incorrect and sent back, 15 mins later then new meal and the final drink arrived! It was like a comedy show!



Positives - the food and cocktails were lovely! The manager was very apologetic and took one meal off the bill.



Hope is it just an off night as the food would make it worth a re-visit! 2 stars just now but if the service had been better it would have been a 5

My Husband ordered fillet steak to be told 10 min later there was no fillet so had to have ribeye(at6.30pm on at sat I may add not the end of the night) I had pasta that was so spicy I had to get a jug of water to cool my mouth down !! I can handle spice but this was very spicy! We both ordered tiramisu , I’ve had this numerous times , when it arrived I was deconstructed ie chucked together dry sponge fingers soaked in straight dissarano topped with cream and sprinkled with a few almonds n a cherry on the top , no coffee flavour at all !! Disgusting we couldn’t eat it , it was knocked off our bill thankfully !! We don’t be back as it was very expensive for what we had and s disappointment as it was a birthday treat for me !

Restaurant is open from 12 noon but there is no chefs so that is mean no food afternoon chefs start at 5 pm so no food before that.
