Michelle is also the founder and Chief editor of prestigious female run music blog www.lipstickdisco.co.uk which has built up an enviable reputation within the industry and among it’s solid fanbase for showcasing the finest and freshest underground House, Techno and Disco, with particular emphasis on promoting female talent. Went here to try vegan food for the first time a couple months ago. After that, despite of not being vegan myself, this is my favourite restaurant in Edinburgh! Absolutely love it and been back several times to try more things!

Visited for a couple of drinks on a sunny afternoon and was great fun, thoroughly enjoyed my raspberry caipirinha and loved the vibe and the decor. Will definitely be back next time we are in Edinburgh!

This is now my absolute fav place in Edinburgh, I plan on returning when I can to make my way through the delish menu and cocktail menu!

Can't wait to come back and will be buying a few records next time!!

The 3 bean chilli is absolutely gorgeous and a nice generous portion. Cocktail was lovely to :) a vibrant vintage decor.

Super imaginative vegetarian and vegan food! Would highly recommend the very high tea ♡

Sure service is a little slow, as many others suggest, but we should be slowing down anyway! Crazy decor, good music & for the odd day it's warm enough you can sit outside too. Really good vibe & will be back soon.

I come here pretty often because of the great range of vegan food. The restaurant is fully vegetarian but a vegan should have no trouble finding something yummy to eat. The cocktails are also super nice and very reasonably priced.

Have now been here twice in two days for lunch. The chef is a genius. Great food, decent prices, dog friendly, and very relaxed atmosphere. Excellent value for money and will be going back to work through the rest of the menu

Had lvly meal with my son & his wife today . Food fab Staff brilliant !! Moved us inside when it got too cold . ����

Great Vegan hot dog, nachos and burger.Good side options as well. My favourite foods I’ve had here are the chicken seitan with cashew cream, the veggie meatballs and the tofu fish bites. The vegan macaroni cheese is spicy and has a much stronger taste than most. Whether you consider that a good or bad thing comes down to personal taste.

First time in and loved the place will be back again. Food was amazing and the staff were friendly to chat away with I will be recommending to other people 🍺

Amazing Sunday bloody Mary's, excellent food. 'best Macaroni and cheese' my partners ever eaten apparently...delightful staff too.

Absolute gem of a place, greeted by a tiny record shop as you enter is always a good sign. Superb decor sets the tone, great drink selection including a local favourite 'Bucky Daiquiri' and the staff that serve them all class. A welcome change of Northern prices too as now I'm unfortunately acclimatised to London etc. Top crowd of people in there round off what was a brilliant full sesh in my new favourite gaff, hat tipped to all involved x

Interesting vegan food place with quirky decor. The tofu fish was nice. The buffalo cauliflower was ok. The Teouble in Paradise cocktail was nice.

My husband and I went there on Friday, Far to many people in the place. They should control the amount of people being aloud in. couldn't even walk to the bar never mind order a drink. The bar staff were so rude. Overheard one of the bar staff shouting to us that we wouldn't get served until wee stood at the other side which was very difficult as the place was well over crowded .Turned around and left immediately.

It looked very quirky with its soft toys hanging from the ceiling and old cameras and Hawaiian shirts . Quite a small space upstairs didn't go downstairs to the cassette not sure what was down there .

Drinks service was a little slow as only two people seem to know how to make cocktails but when I asked for a crack tail which was not on there list they were very accomadating and made a loverly sex on the beach.

Too us a little while to find a seat as it was busy early on with food. Then I was quite shocked when a member of staff came over and put a reserved label on our table and said we could stay there till 8.45 then we would have to move wear to I don't know because there was now ear else they were all full we weren't the only one either . Considering we were staying upstairs I thought we were settled fo the night so we ended up leaving and going so were else for a bit .

On returning to our room the music was very very loud but we thought how are we ment to have a conversation downstairs with that volume so I was glad in a way we didn't stay.

But even though it was loud it did sound like some decent music.

The staff were very friendly. And we got discount on our drinks as we were staying there.

Went for my partners birthday. Food and drinks were great, reasonably priced and the place was really cool. However, the service was terrible. We were given a table when we booked a booth. When we mentioned it they offered to move us but we had been waiting to be served for so long we declined. Drinks took 40 minutes to arrive and when they came they didn’t have a drink that we had ordered. When our food came one of us were given something that we didn’t order. The waitress argued with us that it was what he had ordered. Went away in a huff and another waitress came over and was snippy about it but went to sort it out. As it was my partners birthday I had organised a cake. The staff said to let them know when we wanted them to bring it over. I went to the bar to ask and waited 10 minutes all the while being ignored. It wasn’t busy. The person Who eventually spoke to me said she would get it. I asked if they wanted me to take it over which she declined. After 20 mins I went back and it was sitting at the side of the bar. The waitress said oh I was just coming. I told her I would take it myself. I was given plates but no forks or knife to cut it. I went back to ask for forks but was again ignored. When the bill came (in 2 mins, the fastest we had been served) the missing drink was on it along with a 10% service charge. A friend complained as we didn’t want to pay extra for the terrible service and was told to calm down. They took the drink off and the service charge and were given a discount. If the drinks hadn’t taken so long we would have ordered more than one round and if the service had been good, we wouldn’t have minded paying a service charge. Not sure if I would chance going again which is a shame as it’s a really cool place.

The steak was terrible and it arrived two hours late, those two hours were filled with lies by the staff about exposing myself to Jesus after which I became a devout Christian and gave up eating steak so I never got the chance to eat it. Also the venue is a cocaine front.

And yes, there is a vegan option; smashing. Please go away and have a sausage whilst you are doing it. And the music really is shite.....

A welcome change of Northern prices too as now I'm unfortunately acclimatised to London etc. Top crowd of people in there round off what was a brilliant full sesh in my new favourite gaff, hat tipped to all involved x

Nice food, pretty decent cocktails. Staff very friendly, and gave my mum her cocktail for free when he heard it was her birthday which was sweet. I love the decor and woulda stayed longer but they were very busy so space was restricted!

Interesting vegan food place with quirky decor. The tofu fish was nice. The buffalo cauliflower was ok. The Teouble in Paradise cocktail was nice.

Great lively place to eat, good service and very tasty food

My husband and I went there on Friday, Far to many people in the place. They should control the amount of people being aloud in. couldn't even walk to the bar never mind order a drink. The bar staff were so rude. Overheard one of the bar staff shouting to us that we wouldn't get served until wee stood at the other side which was very difficult as the place was well over crowded .Turned around and left immediately.

It looked very quirky with its soft toys hanging from the ceiling and old cameras and Hawaiian shirts . Quite a small space upstairs didn't go downstairs to the cassette not sure what was down there .

Drinks service was a little slow as only two people seem to know how to make cocktails but when I asked for a crack tail which was not on there list they were very accomadating and made a loverly sex on the beach.

Too us a little while to find a seat as it was busy early on with food. Then I was quite shocked when a member of staff came over and put a reserved label on our table and said we could stay there till 8.45 then we would have to move wear to I don't know because there was now ear else they were all full we weren't the only one either . Considering we were staying upstairs I thought we were settled fo the night so we ended up leaving and going so were else for a bit .

On returning to our room the music was very very loud but we thought how are we ment to have a conversation downstairs with that volume so I was glad in a way we didn't stay.

But even though it was loud it did sound like some decent music.

The staff were very friendly. And we got discount on our drinks as we were staying there.

Went for my partners birthday. Food and drinks were great, reasonably priced and the place was really cool. However, the service was terrible. We were given a table when we booked a booth. When we mentioned it they offered to move us but we had been waiting to be served for so long we declined. Drinks took 40 minutes to arrive and when they came they didn’t have a drink that we had ordered. When our food came one of us were given something that we didn’t order. The waitress argued with us that it was what he had ordered. Went away in a huff and another waitress came over and was snippy about it but went to sort it out. As it was my partners birthday I had organised a cake. The staff said to let them know when we wanted them to bring it over. I went to the bar to ask and waited 10 minutes all the while being ignored. It wasn’t busy. The person Who eventually spoke to me said she would get it. I asked if they wanted me to take it over which she declined. After 20 mins I went back and it was sitting at the side of the bar. The waitress said oh I was just coming. I told her I would take it myself. I was given plates but no forks or knife to cut it. I went back to ask for forks but was again ignored. When the bill came (in 2 mins, the fastest we had been served) the missing drink was on it along with a 10% service charge. A friend complained as we didn’t want to pay extra for the terrible service and was told to calm down. They took the drink off and the service charge and were given a discount. If the drinks hadn’t taken so long we would have ordered more than one round and if the service had been good, we wouldn’t have minded paying a service charge. Not sure if I would chance going again which is a shame as it’s a really cool place.

The steak was terrible and it arrived two hours late, those two hours were filled with lies by the staff about exposing myself to Jesus after which I became a devout Christian and gave up eating steak so I never got the chance to eat it. Also the venue is a cocaine front.

Really disappointed!!! Staff were nice enough but we waited an hour for food which I had to ask when it was going to be ready, they said 5 minutes which turned into another 10 minutes. The food arrived cold, the staff didn't seem bothered at all so we walked out. It's a real shame as the food tasted good but was just cold.

Poor service. After finishing food but still having drinks we were asked to move to a table at the back in order to let other people have the seats in the dining area. We moved only to find there weren't any seats at the back, and so had to finish our drinks standing and then leave. When we left the table we had vacated was still empty.

Oh what fun! Utterly pompous, pretentious and absurd...and not necessarily in that order. I do enjoy a bit of surrealism, but I do not like it when the humour (ahem) is directed at me. Rip off. And yes, there is a vegan option; smashing. Please go away and have a sausage whilst you are doing it. And the music really is shite.....

Just left here after waiting an hour for food. It arrived cold, we only order a vegan hot dog and sub (basically 2 x sandwiches). Told staff and there was no apology. We left the food on the table and walked out - avoid! There are better vegan places to eat in the city.
