Hi, my name is Gillian and I’ve worked at Parkside for 6yrs now. I am a Senior Nurse and based at the Barnhill branch looking after the nursing team and the day to day running of things.
I have a keen interest in cats and have a Certificate in Nursing for Felines, I am also a cat advocate for this branch.
In all honesty though I love anything with four legs and fur! At home I’m a married mother of two grown up children. We have three dogs and two rescue cats.
... When I’m not in work I can be found walking the countryside with our dogs and I also enjoy spending time with family and friends.
To relax I love nothing more than enjoying good food with good friends and a good craic!

Hi I’m Fiona Shepherd and have worked at Parkside for over 21 years. I absolutely love my job and never wake up dreading going into work.
There is plenty of variety every day with no two days the same. We have all sorts of animals coming in to see us which keeps it interesting and very rewarding.
Parkside is a training practice and I love seeing the student nurses blossom into great qualified nurses.
... At home I spend my time riding my horse Teddy, going to lessons and some competitions. My two daughters also ride so I’m kept very busy.
I am also owned by my two rescue Staffies and the boss, my cat Merlin.
