Well unfortunately we didn’t win last night but we had an amazing evening at the VOWS Awards. Out of something like 50,00 nominations there were only 144 finalists and only 4 in our category so we must be doing something right! Great to see some other fabulous local wedding businesses involved too - Forbes of Kingennie Country Resort , Landal Piperdam, Lorraine Law, Pippa's Kitchen, Celebre Weddings & Events, - all great finalists! Thank you to all our wonderful customers for another year of amazing loyal support. We love being in Broughty Ferry! Some pictures of the fun ( we were missing Maggie who was away at a family wedding and Julie who at 7 months pregnant decided to put her feet up for once! )

It’s finally here! Our big night out for the VOWS Awards is in Glasgow on Monday evening. A HUGE THANK YOU to all our wonderful customers in 2017/18 who have encouraged us and made our job the most fun! Here are just a few of you. We will be closed from 1.30 on Monday and Open again on Tuesday at 12.30 so that the whole team can attend. Sorry for any inconvenience but fingers crossed that we bring the trophy back to Broughty Ferry! 🤞🍀🎉🍾💃

We were so proud to have dressed both Nikki’s Mum and her aunt Linda. Mother of the Bride chose the fabulous Fely Campo print dress with Sarah Crozier hat to match and Linda chose the stunning soft pink dress by Irresistible with matching hat from Ispirato - all finished with beautiful shoes and jewellery from PATRICIA FORBES as well! My daughter & I travelled down to Broughty Ferry from Stonehaven after a friend had mentioned the shop. I was looking for an outfit for my sons wedding. On entering the shop we were made to feel so welcome by the owner & another 2 ladies. They asked about where & when the wedding was, if I knew the colour of bridesmaid dresses etc & asked if I had any colours/style in mind. Nothing was too much trouble trying on quite a few outfits & finally it was down to 2 outfits. Hat shoes handbag all to match outfits, we made our choice. I cant thank the ladies enough throughly enjoyable time spent in the shop. Brenda

I would just like to thank everyone at Patricia Forbes for helping my mum find her mother of the bride outfit for my wedding. The shop was extremely busy but the staff gave us their full attention and gave my mum some excellent advise and tips, which has resulted in her walking away today with her dress, hat, shoes, bag and accessories!! I will definitely be recommending all future MOTB's to visit to find their perfect outfit!

I visited the store to purchase my outfit for my sons wedding and the service from Carol was excellent, she helped me make the right choice but wasn't in the least pushy, I'd definitely recommend this store for a special occasion, thanks again x

I visited Patricia Forbes searching for my second mother of the groom outfit for this year. It was quite a challenge to find something different and suitable for a winter wedding. I have tried a number of places and scoured the Internet without success. The ladies were lovely and very helpful. The shop has a very good selection with hats shoes and bags to match. I ended up getting my whole outfit sorted. Thank you very much ladies. I am really pleased with my outfit and looking forward to wearing it.

I travelled 60 miles to this wee shop as was reccommend to me. I wasn't disappointed staff were very attentive even though it was late in the day. So much choice but eventually I came home with the most fabulous and flattering outfit I could ever have imagined. Thank you all x

I had a super visit to this shop on Thursday and was given an extremely helpful and professional reception. I was guided to a superb outfit which is being adapted (taken up - I am 5'2") for me on a short timescale. I came away feeling happy and confident about my choice and would like to thank the two lovely ladies who looked after me! These are special occasion prices, but for those very special days I cannot imagine anywhere more helpful.

I dreaded going shopping for motb until I walked into Patricia Forbes. I gave a brief description of what I liked and within minutes the dress, shoes, hat, bag and even jewellery was brought to me. I looked at nothing else as I loved my outfit and left the shop a very happy motb! �

I am absolutely delighted with Karen's assistance in helping me buy a beautiful Aideen Bodkin dress. There are not many UK stockists of this fabulous Irish designer and I had to buy on-line, which is not ideal. But Karen has been great, even sending photos of suggested hats "modelled" with the dress to complete my outfit. I couldn't have asked for more

Hi I just wanted to say a big thank you I bought a dress & jacket on Saturday. However when later tried it on at home I was worried it was a bit big I came back in this morning and the staff were brilliant Karen you helped me to realise the dress will be perfect and if need be it can be adjusted in time for my daughters big day thank you so much xx

Fantastic service from Karen, I knew the designer that I was looking for and she was so helpful in getting the right customisation that I was looking for. Matched hat, shoes and bag to give me the perfect Mother of the Groom outfit. So many compliments on the big day.

Bought my outfit for my daughters wedding today after visiting many shops. Service was excellent and the staff were so friendly and helpful, made it such a nice experience. Will be recommending to family and friends.

Went on a Monday thought it would be a quiet time. Both assistants were serving, but I was happy to wait. After 45 minutes one assistant became free and started to tidy away shoes, hats etc, which I totally understood as shop is quite small. When finished she disappeared through to the back of the shop without saying a word to me and never returned. I waited another 10 minutes for the other assistant to become available. I showed her the style of dress I did not want to try, however that was exactly the style she continually brought me. Seemed more fixated on getting shoes, jewellery to match rather than finding an outfit which I liked before adding extras. As my two hour car park was about to expire I had to leave after trying on four or five unsuitable dresses. I may just have been unlucky as both customers before me seemed to have a better experience than I had.

Went in to collect my mums dress and was told to keep my (clean) pram at the front of the shop “because of the carpet”! Absolutely mortified - my pram was probably cleaner than peoples shoes! Mum spent around £900 on a mother of the bride outfit and I was made to feel like I shouldn’t have been in there! Disgusted!

Very poor service. My mum & I made to feel like we were an inconvenience.

Shop was very busy & staff were rushed. I wouldn't have minded so much but I called ahead & asked if I should make an appointment.
