Clay Shooting Coach

For some eleven years I shot rifle in competition at county and above level.

In 1987, like so many, I came across Clay Shooting at a corporate event, no one explained lead, so I shot at the target and missed most of them. Another corporate event later with good instructors, who explained lead and from then on I was ‘hooked’ I joined a local clay shooting club, not looked back since.

Started shooting CPSA ‘Registered Shoots’ and in 1996 shot my first British /English Open, continued to shoot registered shoots every weekend, and yearly competed in the ‘Open’s’, some results good and some, not so good!

By 2004 my shooting was suffering due to Arthritis.

As I had enjoyed so many years in the sport, my plan was to put something back into the sport, so others could enjoy.

In 2005 I Qualified as a CPSA Instructor, I realised then that I had the ‘Best Job in the World’, the return on assisting non-shooters to break targets and develop ‘Registered Shoot’is so rewarding.

In 2012, I became a CPSA Coach (Sporting)

I continued my CPSA training to become a Staff Tutor for Safety Officer Courses in 2011 and a Staff Tutor for Instructor Courses in 2014.

I am also a CPSA referee for Skeet and Sporting.

In 2014 I joined the Council of the Institute of Clay Shooting Instructors, and feel that my business and shooting experience will assist the ICSI in the future.

In 2014 I was awarded the CPSA ‘Coach of the Year’ award. ,
