Highly qualified and experienced in the three areas of training offered, PB Training Essentials aims to equip people with essential life skills and capabilities.

Self Defence
With more than 1600 assaults taking place in Scotland last year, the chances of being a victim of violence remain significantly high. Skills in self defence techniques and conflict resolution are vitally important so that you can defend yourself and those around you. Breakaway /escape techniques, counter attack and restraint skills are fundamental components of this training.

First Aid
Ask yourself; what could you do if your child /partner /parent /sibling /friend took unwell and was in desperate need of medical help. Have you the knowledge and skills to save a life or prevent a condition from worsening? If you don't then you must! I offer a range of courses from short awareness sessions through to Ofqual regulated first aid at work courses (formerly regulated by HSE).

Fitness
This is fitness training with a difference.

If you're looking to improve your fitness or lose weight and are thinking of hiring a Personal Trainer, but don't want the spiralling cost of one-on-one training sessions, then we offer a solution.

We offer a private consultation at a venue of your choice, during which we will discuss your goals and requirements of a physical training programme. We can analyse your body composition using a quick, painless and non-intrusive piece of analysing equipment. This will determine your Body Fat Percentage, your Basal Metabolic Rate, your BMI and also calculates what changes to your body we need to make in order to reach your goals. Your blood pressure will be analysed to ensure that it is safe to proceed with a training programme.

All training plans should begin with few basic tests such as these, so that your improvements can be monitored and any necessary adjustments can be made to your programme. This is a vital service that is frequently lacking within personal training.

Through discussion, a programme will be designed which will based on your goals, the venue(s) you wish to use be it home, park, gym and what equipment (if any) you may want to use.

Once the programme has been set, its over to you. No weekly fees or inconvenient appointments. Work through your programme, staying in touch with us as you progress. After a predetermined time period (usually 4-6 weeks) it is recommended that we meet again for another analysis and make plans to evolve your training to the next level.

If you wish to work along with friends or family members then we can work with you all. This is a really good way of doing it as you will all keep each other motivated. It will also work out cheaper for you!

Programmes can be designed for weight loss, general fitness following injury or illness or perhaps even for a new job or sport. Perhaps you just need a bit of direction to improve upon a current level of fitness.

I am a Certified Personal Trainer with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and have vast experience in physical conditioning
