And on the service side I would not let them near a bicycle.

Jaguars are still just British Leyland, very poor build quality, terrible reliability and no second hand value.

For gods sake please buy a German car, protect your investment and hard earned cash.

Bought a used Jaguar XK from Pentland, car was advertised as an approved car with warranty, roadside assistance and full jaguar service history, I was also told by the salesman that the car hadn't had any previous accident repairs.

Car came with a partial service history, a named component warranty with a company called Scotsure, no roadside assistance and all of the panels on the drivers side had been replaced and incorrectly fitted!

After a couple of weeks with the car I started noticing issues with the door (rattling when closed, wind noise at 70mph), bonnet (none of the panels lined up) and paintwork (looked like my youngest daughter had painted the side of the car). Raised a complaint with Pentland, had a response 2 months later stating that the car wasnt 'Jaguar Approved' rather it was 'Pentland Approved' which apparently gives you no assurance what so ever! The car also had a patchy service history, it was missing 3 service stamps, again I was told this was to be expected with a Pentland Approved vehicle! I had to sell the car after doing 2000 miles 6 months later for a £7200 loss as they refused to take it back or even buy it back for a reduced amount.

If you are buying a car from these guys please ensure its Manufacturer Approved rather than Pentland Approved as buying a Pentland Approved car appears to be on par with purchasing a jamjar from Arthur Daley.

If you are after a Pentland Approved vehicle please don't trust that because they are a main dealer they will have checked it over, mine was a shambles, door wasnt fitted properly, panel gaps ranged from between 2mm and 12mm, paint had an orange peel affect, nose cone was deformed. Please spend the £100 getting an independent inspection pre purchase as there is absolutely no come back with these guys.

The branch manager Ross is helpful and pleasant, I expect its the company policies that are at fault rather than the staff. Also the servicing team are great, although the prices are a little steep at £400 for a basic oil service, when the franchise was Stratstone a similar service was nearer £200.

From my years of experience everything front of house will be first rate, good attention and customer contact, professionalism especially in sales, and cars cleaned upon return. What I have noted is the phone calls when submitting for servicing or repair to suggest other work. I believe Jaguar rely on a lot of their senior and company owners just responding with "ok, just get it done". Buzz phrases like dangerously condition/badly worn are touted implying inevitably. Each time previously I need something done even though the car drives perfectly. The culture appears to be suggesting to replacing parts before they've finished their life, as there's a grey area between forward planning and the failure of the part. Tyres are frequently cited, which I had yet again in the summer as "worn to the cord", yet I've just now replaced it in January! Needless to say I'm no longer continuing JFSH

Went in today to look at the F-pace, not the biggest of garages but service was great from opening the door to leaving! Derek Cartner great guy! Nice attitude not like some other garages we've been in! Who try to force a sale or want details of you straight away before you even get in the door! When we're due to change cars we'll be returning here!
