Lily Douglas, a local girl from Perth has been battling with stage four Ewing’s sarcoma, a rare form of cancer that attacked her bones and required a horrendous treatment regime. Lily underwent 118 intensive courses of chemo, a major operation to remove her shoulder blade and scores of intrusive procedures. She also travelled to Florida for proton treatment. She recently got the all clear and we could not be happier for Lily and her family!
Here at The Bothy, we have been sel...ling raffle tickets to help raise money for this strong, amazing girl and her family, through this extremely tough time and we are pleased to announce that we managed to raise £404.50

What a great place. We have lived here over 35 years but always passed it by. My wife has been many times for lunches and dinners with friends. Only remember this place as the offices for Mathew Gloag’s offices. Cannot fault this place superb.

We had a light lunch there yesterday. The menu was great with lots of exciting options for vegetarians and vegans. The service was very friendly, the waiter was fantastic. The place looks really cool (we were told that it just went through a refurbishment) and the music selection was fab too, played at the right volume, allowing guests to have quiet conversations - which is a rare thing in bars and restaurants. We ordered two starters, a main with chips and two soft drinks and paid £24 which I thought was reasonable for the quality food we had. If it was in Leith, I'd be a regular customer.

My sister an myself took my mum out for a birthday lunch. The staff were very kind and a made a fuss of her and even brought out a wee cake saying happy 90th birthday written in chocolate at the end of lunch. Which we did not ask for. Many thanks to all the staff.

Food was excellent, service was perfect .such a lovely ,fresh and relaxing place to eat. Highly recommended will defonetly be back �

Came in tonight for our meal which I was fortunate enough to win in the valentines competition and it was superb, staff were very attentive and the food was delicious (great French martini too) thank you again so much and look forward to returning

Went for a meal for a friends birthday.



4 of us arrived at a table and ordered a bottle of prosecco. Matthew was very attentive and friendly. Can not praise him enough. We only wish we had him throughout the whole our first experience at The Bothy.



We then waited some time for our starters to arrive.

These were lovely.



We again, waited some time for our mains to arrive.



These again, were lovely although the Risotto (on the theatre menu) should have mushrooms included.

This resulted in two of our party swapping dishes.



At the point of the mains being dished out we said to “Saba?” That we are in a rush due to plans (we sat at 1730 and by this point it was 1845) and that we would like our puddings shortly after our main.



We continued to wait after our mains and no sign of desert.



A member of our party approached the bar and asked to discard the dessert so we could attend our arrangements.

The bar maid agreed to pass on the concerns.



Our desserts then arrived at the table and we were greeted by a rude and argumentative person (Saba?).

He told us we should have asked for desserts to arrive sooner, we advised we did and he disagreed with us.



He was very dismissive and rude.



This put a massive dampener on our evening. He was extremely rude/ abrupt and embarrassing. This behaviour is unacceptable.



Four disappointed females who felt intimated by this mans behaviour.



Would NOT recommend this restaurant.

Went in last for a cocktail before getting a table for some food , but unfortunately we decided against it due to being robbed blind for two over priced cocktails that where very poor and then we where spoken to very rudely by the bartender .

Went here for lunch and I can say it was the worst I have had. Risotto was overcooked slop with fish bones in it. The problem is I went with my partner who is a chef and who received undercooked chicken. They need proper chefs - seriously people of Perth you shouldn't put up with being served and having to accept this kind of food - you are in the home of excellent produce and if you are paying these prices then you should receive good food. What more can I say other than get a proper chef and get someone who knows about food go interview them. Rant over!

Only in for a quiet drink in the Famous Grouse bar and we were so cold,due to an ill fitting door, that I had to wear my coat as a blanket and didn’t want to drink my chilled white wine. Even with the door ‘closed’ the stream of smokers (both staff and patrons) directly outside the door of the bar meant that even by the bar, some distance from the door we were in a fog of cigarette smoke. Considering the prices are above average, the atmosphere was toxic and cold and we won’t be returning any time soon.
