How is everyone keeping?
Stay active and stay healthy. It’s far too easy to use this lockdown as an excuse to not train.
This time will test us, make sure you put the work in.
... More training videos coming later for club members. Use them 👊🏻

How are we all doing? It’s tough going with no classes. However no classes doesn’t mean no training. If your attitude is right you’ll find a way. Use this time wisely, we’re not often given the gift of time.
Wether it’s to get odd jobs done round the house, taking some time to relax, enjoy some family time, stay positive and enjoy the time. Remember to make time for karate practice, stretching and general fitness. It’s amazing what it does for the mind as well as the body. ...
I’ve been making videos and sharing them with my students to help them keep working. It’s helping me to keep some focus on my Karate development too.
Stay safe

Sadly no classes this morning. I plan to make some videos for you guys but in the meantime, here’s a good 10min Karate work out.
I tried it out yesterday as part of a work out and it’s good for getting a sweat going and to give you some Kumite movement and combo ideas. Give it a go and let me know how you get on

One last class and an opportunity for grading last night. Congratulations to the Perth and Cupar students who successfully graded. It was a really excellent display of spirit and technique all round.
In keeping with current government advice, our post grading photo pose ensured a good level of social distancing.
We are now closed until things start to get back to normal in the country. Thank you so much to everyone for your amazing support, not just now but always. We’re on...e big team and we’ll get through this to see more success on the other side.
Take care and stay safe. Keep in touch!
Chris ✌🏻

Tomorrow we have having one last session before we close up for a while.
This will include grading for anyone green belt and below for Perth and Cupar students.
I’m asthmatic so fall under the list of people who should be locked up so trust me when I say I’m taking cleanliness seriously and I’ll hold my breath the whole time we’re there.
... Please bring your own pads if you have them, don’t share. Wash your hands as you come in and again when you’re leaving.
Those who are grading, bring license books.
Any questions, let me know.
See you tomorrow

The latest on the grading is that for now it remains on but with no spectators.
I will keep you up to date with any developments though as things are changing rapidly.

As of right now, we’re still on as normal.
I’m monitoring the situation constantly though so I’ll keep you all posted if anything changes. We’ll take any action recommended by the association, the governing body and the government.
Situations like these are very worrying for small businesses and clubs like ours are no different. This is a nonprofit arrangement which makes it more worrying.
... Please attend classes while they’re on if you can but of course, the health of you and your loved ones is far more important so if you’re not well or have been exposed to those who are unwell, stay away and make sure you’re good before returning.
Closure of the class for any considerable length of time will cause immense strain on the club. Simply put, no memberships coming in vs still having a hall to pay for makes for a very challenging situation. I’ll work on a solution for if the worst happens so at the end of all this we still have a club.
Also, shop local if you can and take some of the inevitable strain and worry away from our small, independent businesses.
See you on Thursday

The safety and well-being of the kids we teach is of huge importance to us. All coaches at SK2000 are trained in Child Protection and vetted through the PVG scheme.
The time has come for us to renew this training but unfortunately, the session clashes with our Saturday classes on 21 March meaning there will be no classes that day.
Those who are registered for the Saturday class can of course attend a Thursday instead that week or whenever. If this isn’t an option for you, c...atch me tomorrow and we’ll figure something out.
Thanks as always for your understanding and continued support.

Classes are on as normal but please follow the usual advice to avoid spread of the virus:
- follow all official guidelines for self isolation if you show any symptoms, have been in contact with anyone who has shown symptoms, travelled to any high risk countries, etc.
- please stay away from the dojo if you do fall into any of these categories
... - take sensible steps to avoid the spread of the virus: wash hands regularly and properly, wash gi and equipment after each training session (you should do this anyway), shower after and if possible before each session (again, you should do this anyway)
- don’t panic, just be sensible. Please don’t steal the toilet roll from the dojo
I’ll keep you posted if anything changes.
Thanks Chris
