Really nice hostel, clean and comfortable.
I stayed at Perth Hostel for 3 nights and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Perth SYHA is definitely a good hostel for backpackers or other visitors who wish to visit Perth.
The hostel staff offers you a warm welcome and greets you politely when you checked in.
Perth hostel only provides single en-suite room for visitors as the main purpose of the building is student accommodation for University of Highlands and Islands Perth College, so this privacy is good and each room has a cupboard, table and chair. The shower is good because it is powerful and has warm water.
The kitchen is clean and tidy and is shared by 4 people. Most importantly, cooking utensils, fridges, freezer and washing up equipment are provided there. If you wish to use the cooker to prepare your meal, please just remember to switch the cooker's timer control on, which is just next to the front door of the flat. Otherwise, you would not able to use the cooker. Further, the kitchen has a balcony, which allows people to enjoy their meal whilst in fresh air.
The hostel is not really far away from the Perth city centre. It is half an hour on foot and 10 to 15 minutes by bus from city centre. If you prefer to go there by car, it is absolutely fine as there is a big car park on site.
Affordable, clean place to stay. Very helpful staff.

Ok accommodation for a short stay. Basics covered. Tiny rooms for a single occupant. The place lacks appealing atmosphere and it's far from the city centre.
