What we do

Phenix Energy Description

Phenix Energy was formed in 2011. The business objective is to provide a complete Project Management service from inception to completion that enables farmers, land owners, developers or indeed anyone interested in delivering a renewable energy project, to achieve their particular project goals. This ranges from single turbines to multiple turbine sites across a range of manufacturers and machines.

End to end service means that Clients can choose to engage from their project inception or indeed at any point within the process from the list of services below.
We provide services from site design, site feasibility, grid feasibility, WTG selection, planning, construction and maintenance.
Not everyone requires a turn-key solution to their particular site and many people have sites with the key components already in place ie planning consented, grid connection secured and funding in place and are looking for a suitable partner to engage for the delivery and installation stage of the process. We can provide a full project delivery proposal based on each particular Clients case, that not only provides cost certainty, clear milestones, responsibilities and project delivery dates based on a fixed price contract but also ensures that the Employers responsibility to ensure compliance with current CDM and HSE Regulations is achieved.

All projects benefit from clear specifications and cost certainty and to facilitate this we engaged Capita to advise on the best means of achieving this. To this end we now use an NEC 3 Engineering & Construction Contract (June 2003) to provide both by means of a fixed price contract.

The delivery stage of any WTG installation presents numerous obstacles that can be overcome by the preparation of a detailed delivery plan and a robust reporting and communication stream. Each Client`s site and project is unique as are the individual needs of each Client.
With this in mind we produce bespoke project plans based on the needs of each individual client and their project. Below are a few of the key headings that should be considered as a minimum as part of the preparation of any project plan;
• Site viability
• Site design
• Turbine selection
• Soil analysis
• Foundation design to BS
• Transport assessment
• Delivery and customs
• Infrastructure
• Roads /access design
• DNO enabling works
• CDM /Construction Phase Health & Safety Plan

Maintenance of any renewable energy installation should also be considered during the delivery stage to ensure that a fit for purpose maintenance plan is in place post commissioning of the WTG`s.

Our ability to deliver projects is based on the strength of the people who make up our team. With industry experience in site design, infrastructure, utilities and construction spread across the business, we also have strategic partnerships developed over the last 2 years in place that allow us to install and maintain the industry leading turbines currently available within the market place, such as PowerWind, ACSA, RRB and EWT.
Strong, professional relationships with both Scottish & Southern and Scottish Power ensure good technical support in relation to network related issues.
We also offer full support and assistance through CHP Registration and power purchase agreements.
