We were there on a deal and it was worth every penny, staff were all extremely friendly, helpful and polite.

Our room although on the second floor was extremely spacious and bed was so comfy.

All food and drinks were lovely.

The hotel is a perfect location to visit many castles/ Abbeys in the area.

Warm, friendly place. Clean and extremely well maintained. As a person who regularly stays in hotels through work I can thoroughly recommend this hotel. Karyn, one of the waitresses, is a credit to the establishment with her friendly approach and manner. All in all, an excellent facility.

Thank you for a lovely few days. You all made myself and Donald the pup feel very welcome. The lodge is just perfect for a break with a dog.

Just returned from a wonderful two night stay. Hotel is beautiful with stunning surroundings. Staff really helpful and friendly. We stayed in a gorgeous dupelx room which also had a balcony. Thanks again. Hopefully will be back one day.

Had our first ever Christmas lunch out instead of cooking! I must say it was first class, absolutely beautiful. Great portion size and was defiantly stuffed!! The staff were amazing and deserve a good pat on the back. Will defiantly be back for Christmas lunch next year! Thank you

Had our day and night reception here, it was amazing don't think I can put Into words how perfect it was and how smoothly it ran due to the amazing staff. Food was delicious, Our honey moon suite was bliss, fair enjoyed the jacuzzi. All our stuff from the wedding was well looked after, all tidy and packed up ready for us in the morning. So glad we chose to have our special day with you.

Fabulous centre for many great places. Easy enough for us to travel across fantastic scenery to reach the Royal Yacht Britannia in Edinburgh and a test match at Chester-le-Street in the same weekend. Good spacious rooms, free WiFi and comfortable bed.

The hotel is lovely. Very clean. But the room wasn't worth £108 not including breakfast. Breakfast was £13.50 on top. The breakfast was very good, but again, I think 13.50 is a bit steep.

We checked in about 6.30pm and were tired and hungry. So we had evening meal there. Starter was nice. I had burger and chips. Which wasn't good. The chips weren't cooked properly and the meat in the burger was not nice. My friend had steak and ale pie. The meat was poor quality again. It was expensive too. £14.50 for burger and chips. Now I don't mind paying that much if it's really good. But if the quality is poor it really doesn't sit well with me.
