We had great meal the four of us two had the prawn curry one had the pork I had chicken curry to die for , drinks very good thanks pint shop
Visited with friends last night for my birthday. We ate upstairs. For starter I had the gin cured sea trout, buttermilk pancakes & sweetcorn relish followed by overnight pork belly, crumble for dessert. Oh & I had a few yummy Gins.
Our waiter was really good too- sorry I cant remember his name. Great night thanks
Visited with friends for the 2nd time, they are regulars. Superb & perfectly cooked rare hanger steak & served with potato gratin because we asked, instead of chips. I’m not a pudding person so for once it was nice to have options as far as cheese is concerned. All very yummy ... see you again ...
Try the fig ale !!! 13% abv ... tastes like dark rum and coke !!!!
This establishment has everything going for it. Good food, ales, wines and friendly staff. We have been using this place since it opened and re-opened and will continue to do so.
The best array of lesser known real ales. A wonderful selection of Gin (and the staff know how to serve each and every one as well as the botanical elements. Of course the scotch eggs are world renowned and every single visitor I have to Cambridge just has to experience it all! Atmosphere is great and it may come as no surprise that this is my absolute favourite bar/pub in Cambridge
Omg the best came up on the train found this by walking round why is this not talked about more best ever waiters bar staff brill the gins to die for and the food defo come back even if it's an hour on the train worth it great atmosphere great food great gins 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
I have never eaten here but I have had a gin or two. This is a lovely little place; relaxed during the day and a lovely buzz at night. Plus great staff who are passionate and knowledgeable about their wide variety of gins. Can't wait to come back!
Had the king prawn curry, was gorgeous, no fat or grease, the sauce was lovely we ordered a side of chips which were really nice with skin on, the service was very good, staff were very busy but still attentive. My husband had the lamb flatbread and said it was lovely. Had chocolate caramel pudding, small but just enough. Wine was nice, all in all a very lovely experience and we will be coming back. We booked a table and I would recommend that as it is busy.
Great atmosphere, attentive and friendly staff and wonderfully tasty food. Highly recommend the squid and trout starters and the spit roast beer brined chicken
Excellent food and service. Very good selections in Gin and beer. Highly recommended.
Excellent beer selection, great food and really helpful and friendly staff! We will be returning.
Delicious food (and plenty of it!), amazing array of beers/gins/whiskeys and soft drinks - and as for somewhere that serves both Blanquette de Limoux and Crement de Limoux you can't go wrong! The service was fab, friendly and efficient without being intrusive or stuffy. Dare I mention the Butterscotch Chocolate Pot? Heavenly!
A spicy G&T on local gin, followed by a perfect Scottish egg and the best cheese burger I ever had. Good and nice service, and great company on top, and the five stars was a no-brainer.
Nice .... in the back courtyard there was some work being done on other buildings so it was a bit noisy but we will go back
Great place for Gluten Free ales both on draft and in cans and not your usual brands either!
Visitied tonight for a friends birthday meal and unfortunately we have left disappointed.
It started when we went to order food after looking at the menu all making are choices to be told sorry no chicken!! When we asked the response was we have been busy tonight! Also no mushroom croquettes how they had a rush on these I will never know!
Also 3 beers finished. No skimmed milk so decided on a herbal tea then waited 15 minutes for it!
The food we had was okay just disappointing couldn’t have what we wanted.
Optional service charge was paid as it wasn’t the waiters fault but still it left a bad taste considering we were not happy.
Food was poor. Atmosphere great! Drinks selection awesome. Food mehh!! Nothing to boast about!! Starters ok. Mains average. Our sides the Vegetables came to us freezing cold (can only assume they were from the fridge as it’s cooked beforehand)! Desert was poor too. Chocolate brownie was dry and tasteless, it came without the raspberries and had a very sour creme fraiche that didn’t go with it.
Such a shame really! We had such a great night but that was down to us and nothing to do with you!!
Beers and scotch eggs great but don't bother with a main course. We gave it a second go as first time had to return raw chicken. Thought a year later we would try again as probably just a one off considering the fab reviews. Had Sunday roast. Returned it as cold. Second lot a bit warmer but decidedly bland and lacklustre. Would definitely go back for a drink and a scotch egg but not a main course. Wasted a lot of money on food we didn't enjoy
