My name is Ryan and I live in the north of Glasgow . I have been a piper for over 12 years now within these years I have played at a variety of events with the two bands which I play with I have also played at many events such as weddings, funerals and corporate events as a solo piper.

I started of my career as a piper when I joined Knightswood Pipe Band when I was 9 years old, this is where I learned the basics of the practice chanter. I then moved on from Knightswood Pipe Band to The National Piping Centre which is the city centre of Glasgow here I attended tuition lessons for many years and was taught by a man called Willie Beverage, after many years attending the national piping centre I felt I had gained more knowledge and skills which I didn't know. When I left the centre I joined Kirkintilloch Pipe Band, when I joined the band I began to learn more and more tunes which would improve my playing and fingering further, and today I am still a member of the band and was appointed Pipe Sergeant almost 3 years ago. Whilst being a member of Kirkintilloch I was introduced to Moodiesburn and District Pipe Band here I met lots of new friends and I have played any many events with them throughout the years.
