Piperdan

Make your wedding a little bit extra special with an award winning bagpiper. Dressed full regalia, in a choice of 3 tartans, or a less formal uniform in 6 tartans, PIPERDAN can be a perfect addition to your day.

I have been playing the bagpipes since the age of 10 through tuition from Adrian Cramb, pipe major for the Vale of Atholl pipe band, and David Dobson, former member of the same band. I first played with the Strathearn pipe band and latterly Perth and District pipe band where I competed at all the major and many minor events.

I have travelled quite a bit playing at weddings, Thailand, Germany, Ireland, but mainly in Scotland. Most recently I was invited to play with the Pryde of East Lothian pipe band at the Spasskaya Tower music festival at Red Square in Moscow. I also have done lots of funerals, probably the hardest thing to do. Christenings is also becoming popular for a little music as guests leave the church. Also for the past 3 years have been playing at Hogmany in the Lake District at a country house named Hollbeck Ghyll, in Lake Windermere.

In 2011 I had the privilege of playing at Crieff Hydro for the arrival of the Miss World contestants, who were on a tour of Scotland at the time. It is also where I have played at various events.

I play in full Number 1 dress with feather bonnet and plaid included, all my own uniform. My tartan is the Irish National but I am in the process of getting another one made up in the muted Drummond of Perth tartan.
