Pizza Express

BEWARE THE HIDDEN PRICES AND (MORE EXPENSIVE) WRONG ORDERS SERVED! I visited here recently after an afternoon's shopping at the Gretna Gateway outlet.
After ordering a pizza, while being served a drink I was asked if I would "like some olives to nibble on while waiting for the pizza?" I presumed this to be a complimentary snack (as is often the case elsewhere) as I had said I didn't need a starter. Billed 2.95 for these at the till.
The pizza had a minimal amount of under cooked toppings with a very dry over baked base. While I was trying my best to swallow this, another waitress came on the scene and asked If I would "like some more cheese?" I said "Yes, please". Billed 1.95 for this at the till (stated as extra anchovies, despite it being a vegan pizza!)
Ordered a chocolate brownie from the menu for desert (which included a tea or coffee for 5.35).
While awaiting this I was asked if I would " like a little ice cream on it?" I asked if it was included in the price and told "Yes, it was". Having accepted this offer, it turned out that I was served the more expensive two finger piece brownie desert at 6.20 (without a hot drink but with a spoonful of ice cream). I was billed another 2.95 for the tea as extra.
In total the bill was well over 26 pounds for a light meal for one. NOT GOOD VALUE - AVOID.

On the 11th of August my family and I had a late lunch at Gretna Green Pizza Express. The pizza was perfect. However, their customer service was extremely poor: waitresses grouped in a corner laughing at customers is not acceptable and definitely created a horrible atmosphere. Although, there was a young brunette waitress who was lovely.

Worst pizza express i have ever been to! Family meal spoiled by bad service and long wait even though restaurant was only half full. I won't be back again. Staff badly in need of training

We were kept waiting for ages our order was remade as it didn't "conform to brand standards". The baby changing facilities in both the male and female toilets are also extremely poor (possibly dangerous) due to the cramped conditions. In the male toilets with the baby changer folded down you're standing right against, almost in, the urinals whilst changing your baby. Degrading.

Nothing was too much trouble. If dessert portions were big enough to warrant the prices

Had a brilliant time, food was delicious but the stand out of the night was my amazing server Elise, she was kind, friendly and made my experience enjoyable!!!!!

We had a lovely time at Pizza Express. Staff did a great job serving 12 of us quickly with great food. Nothing was too much trouble. If dessert portions were big enough to warrant the prices I would give 5*.
