Pizza Express

My wife and I have frequented this particular branch inn a couple of occasions and it's always been good. But our most recent experience a couple of weeks ago left a lot to be desired. A normally nice set of pepperoni pizzas were burnt and dry this time. My wife got through one slice, I got through two.

When the manager came over, sensing my displeasure, I explained why the food was really not very nice and said how at other times it was great. I was reasonable and didn't make a scene. The response I got was jaw-dropping. According to her, apparently burnt and dry with meagre toppings is how the chef prefers his pizzas.

Flabbergasted by this, my wife took the words right out of my mouth: "well who is eating the pizza, him or us - the customer?" ... to which there was no reasonable reply other than a forced apology from someone who couldn't understand the concept. She did try to appease us by taking off 50% from the bill which is appreciated (and gets an extra star above) but she could not refund a ruined evening.

The staff were lovely and helpful. The pizzas we're average. Too thin a base for me and the toppings were scarce. For the price, I won't be going back. Not sure why the place is always so busy, not worth it in my opinion

Great fast service. More than accommodating when i had managed to book a table at the wrong restaurant. Food was excellent too.

Nice food and as usual we had great service we will use Pizza Express again.

Good pizza and a great service. The chocolate fudge cake was a little bit too much on a sweet side.

I'm so glad I found this place food is very nice 😋 full of flavour and fresh ingredients. Very high standard big portions. Love it 😍

Very pricey. Vad service. Margarita was £11.50 sit in.. you do the math. Asked the manager about it when bill came and he laughed at me and made me feel unwelcome.

Fast service and the food was very tasty. Prices are reasonable as well.
