Lovely, freshly made food with friendly service and a place to sit while you wait. Sitting in available but dogs not allowed inside. Plenty of outdoor seating immediately outside or in the nearby gardens.

Very clean inside, plenty of choice with different types of fish, which is caught fresh and served from the fishmongers store next door. You have to wait a while but it's worth it as all food is cooked fresh. The curry sauce was to die for, and the on sight ice cream was huge and well priced. If visiting Kirkcudbright check this place out before you try any where else to eat.

One of the best chippies I've ever visited. Only visited once a year, for the past 5 years. Part of our holiday tradition! Set in the harbour town of Kirkcudbright, seating inside or by the harbour and the castle, it's busy every night and could do with a bigger building, but it's good, and that's all to know!

I'd read good reviews about this place and decided to give it a go based on these. I ordered Cod and chips only to be told that there was none left (this was at 5pm) - no problem I'll take the haddock! Wasn't disappointed as it was very good, as was my wife's southern fried chicken. We were however both in agreement that the chips that accompanied our meal were VERY disappointing - the majority of them were scraps that are normally found at the bottom of a fryer - not very thick and very crispy. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived, but was very busy in both sit-in and takeout when we left. Left feeling a bit disappointed if I'm honest! Staff were friendly.

One of the best chippies I've ever been to. Good range of fresh fish, nice crispy chips, cheerful service. Eat in if it's raining, or take out to sit and look at the boats in the harbour or gaze at the views. Wonderful.

We were on a day trip with a group of senior citizens. Although it was a bit of a tight squeeze the service was great and the food tasty. More tea on request and nothing too much trouble.

Excellent! The fish & chips were excellent and the King Scallops were lovely also. Highly recommended. You can reserve seats if required.

Amazing chippy food in restaurant setting, scallops were fabulous. Not much of a drinks selection but BYOB (no corkage) and staff very friendly. Need to book in evenings at busiest times.
