Staff were very polite and helpful
Food was great (I had the gammon)
Only problem was they had run out of chocolate fudge cake so i had to pick something else
Staff were lovely, so helpful, although chef could do with listening to clients requests when they ask for "well done steak - cooked right through", some of us could vomit at pink meat
That aside, food was delicious, tasty & varied! Drinks reasonable & place was cosy & warm. #perfect
Ps Usually the steak is cooked to perfection & im a frequent visitor..but last nt..he didnt listen...had to swap meal with my daughter as hers was more cooked.
Really impressed with the vegan menu, had the vegan fish and chips and it was amazing! Also massive thank you to all the staff who helped out when my disabled service user started choking, everyone was so kind and helpful!
Nice pub relaxing atmosphere nice bottle of wine (£7.99) great staff we ordered the nachos challenge,,, 1 kilo of nachos very nice but couldn't finish them,,,,,,, 3 bottles of wine later ,,, definitely be back
I pop into the Prince most weekends
Sometimes to eat or just for a few drinks.
We normally meet up with friends and always enjoy the atmosphere, the staff are very helpful and the food is always spot on and competively priced as is the beer.
Great meal good pint good service
Eventually got around to trying the vegan menu! So much choice which is amazing for us vegan folk, and the food is amazing. We shared the Mexican bean burger and the sweet potato and chickpea curry and I couldn't fault either. Can't wait to try the desert menu. Will 100% be coming back more often
Come here all the time, our favourite local.
Came on Monday when the sun was shining , busier than usual however some of the staff who weren’t even at work were mucking in and making sure the best service was given as usual! Very friendly staff who always go the extra mile to keep everyone happy.
Been going to the prince of Wales for near on a year now and that tells me I'm always happy to go back.the steaks are beautifully cooked and the staff are very friendly and helpful with nowt a bother.Thank you The prince of Wales jarrow.always a pleasure to visit and dine..
Amazing! My first visit. Had a main and dessert from the Vegan menu. I had the chickpeas curry and my boyfriend had the fishless fish & chips. Both were absolutely delicious. I nicked some of his "fish" ! We had the cherry bakewell tart with ice cream (they had run out of my first choice of chocolate torte). Again delicious. All cruelty free. Well done P of W, we`ll be back!
One of the few times I've not enjoyed a Flaming Grill meal.
Didn't complain at the time as daughter would have been mortified. But, my meal was cold, Mum had steak and it was just a lump of gristle and daughter's gammon was covered in carbon and was also cold. Even the sizzling plate was silent when placed on the table. Desserts were also a let down. Staff were great but has put us all off.
Normally a fan in this place but after today's visit don't think I will return.. staff not at all friendly, food took nearly an hour even though pub wasn't very busy, meals just warm and small portions. Overall a disappointing lunch.
Went for meal tonight with family. The lasagne they served looked like it had been scraped off the floor and re heated several times. Disgusting.
We normally go to the fountain but unfortunately it was fully booked so thought we'd give The prince of wales a try with it being a flaming grill, my husband and myself had steak which was just fat all the way through so we left most of it, one staff member serving but I must say when a few people at the bar one male staff member managed to lift his head from his mobile phone to serve, safe to say we won't be returning
This manageress wants out she is an old boot my son who is 19 went for a burger st 6 pm no alcohol involved she wanted I'd for a burger he didn't have it with him he explain the other 3 has she said take your hat of when your talking to me talking down to me who the hell does this woman think she is if it wasn't for him I would of been down so they decided to leave and go to the fountain South Shields she must of over heard them then she rang the fountain saying they were trouble makers disgusting old trout I am reporting her to the brewery's oh I rill be paying her a visit
Our food came the chips were awful and tasted like they had been heated the steak and the gammon were full of fat and not cooked to how we asked, waste of our money massive shame when the food used to be so nice
I've always had a really good experience with this bar until 11th Match this year. It was my partners 50th and we went in with the 3 lads at 6:45pm, one aged 22, one 18 and one 17. We went in for food to be told that no one under the age of 18 was allowed on the premises after 7pm. I was absolutely disgusted. Not happy at all. I have been in so many times with the lads and have never seen this advertised or never been questioned previously. Needless to say another establishment got our custom that evening.
Half of one of the meals missing, chicken wings undercooked, wrong sauce on childs burger, all meals served with 5 chips. Son ordered sponge and lashings of custard came with one tablespoon of custard as regulars will be giving it a miss from now on
Bar manager is the most ignorant prick ever. Could see i was waiting to be served and totally ignored me and went on to serve 3 other ppl before young lass came and served me. Dick head.an hour and 10mins for food utter crap will not be returning to this place.
