About Prince William School

Prince William School is a secondary school and sixth form located in Oundle, Northamptonshire. The school was built in 1971 and named in honour of Prince William of Gloucester whose family home, Barnwell Manor, is a few miles away. Prince William was killed in an air crash less than a year after the school opened. As of 2015, the school reopened as an academy. It now provides education from year 7 all the way through to sixth form. DepartmentsPrince William School itself is broken into different specialized blocks such as: The Sutton Maths Department is located at the back of the school, near the soccer courts, the Drama studio and the Science Block. The Science Department has two buildings, the large building in the centre of the campus is the main science block. Next to the main science building is the second, smaller L-shaped science building consisting of just 3 classrooms. The largest science block is the oldest, still containing ceilings made from Asbestos. The Drama Studio is located behind the L-shaped science blocks. It is a dedicated room for the theatrical arts. The Humanities Department is located in the rear of the campus. It is home to seven classrooms, in these rooms, Religious Education, History, Sociology and Geography are taught. It also consists of 3 temporary humanities classrooms (teaching Religious Education and History) in the new updated modular block building.
