My husband & I just walked out of our wedding anniversary couples massage. Worst one of my life. I don't even know if she had any real experience, as there was no skill or comfort whatsoever. I've had massages from people who don't even work in this field at all feel far better. Firstly, there was salt (we'd had our feet scrubbed) ALL OVER the floor, before we even entered the room. From the foot basin to the massage chair (on both sides, only one of which side I used - meaning they don't clean the floors after other clients have walked all over there barefoot, which is disgusting). The hot oil scalded our backs, my masseuse applied no pressure when I asked her to before the appointment, still applied no pressure when I asked several times during the 10-15 minutes I stayed (to give her a proper chance), jerked my body around rapidly in an attempt to deep tissue (all she did was move her thumbs in rapid, shallow, jarring circles), also attempted to pop my back several times (who does that?) in attempt to deepen the massage but all it did was further jar my body into the massage table, & she constantly moved my very long hair with her oily hands. I'd just washed my hair (my hair only needs washing every several days), & now the entire underside is CAKED in oil. I have pictures I'm happy to share, & it's deeply upsetting that I wasted so much time getting back to the hotel to go through this - which now requires that I shower & take MORE time away from our visit to Edinburgh. When I finally realized my massage would never improve, I moved to cancel the appointment. She made no attempt to apologize or amend, which I assume is because she knew it was terrible & she could do nothing to improve the situation. My husband, who likes much lighter pressure, said his masseuse seemed much more skilled, engaging, responsive, & professional. I tried to persuade him to continue his appointment, but he wanted to enjoy our anniversary together.

I am appalled that Apex even allows partnership with such a company, and it has significantly decreased the positivity of our experience here. Out of the many, many spa experiences - both bad and good - I've had everywhere, this is truly the worst. Also, this was for our 5-year wedding anniversary (which they knew). Please do not go here if you require anything more than substandard spa performances and environments.
