The staff at the lothian road premises are excellent, cheery and helpful. I had an eyebrow wax and I'm very happy with the finish.

Had a gel manicure, eyebrow shape and chin/lip wax today.
Very relaxing and profession and great customer care :)

Had an intimate wax there as it was on the way to work. The technician was very skillful and made me at ease very easily. The only downside is that there is no privacy in the rooms - it was very small and you could hear the sound of traffic... a practical but not pampering choice.

Worst shellac experience so far: my appointment was 11.10am & I was right on time, except I went to the toilet first. When I came back, there was a form waiting for me to complete (20 seconds) & when she asked 'what are you having today?' (when I'd booked in a French Polish, well aware it takes longer), she said 'oh sorry, we haven't got time for that now'. When I asked what she meant, she said, 'because you were late'. I said I wasn't late & she said, 'because you went to the toilet & have the form to fill out...' So we had a heated exchange, where I explained the ridiculousness of it... in short, they made me feel terrible; not a word was spoken throughout my nails being painted; the atmosphere was awful & what should've been a nice pamper for me, left me feeling desperate to leave & really upset.
Worse still, when I gave my £50 voucher (I'd already phoned to check I could use the remaining balance some other time), they said, 'sorry, Spafinder don't do change refunds'... I didn't argue, was just desperate to leave. Most expensive shellac too - £50! Absolute joke. Shame on them making me feel so bad when the voucher was given with the intention of cheering me up. Never going back there & would not recommend. The girls are very immature & self-righteous, with no customer skills at all.

I have been going to pure for years and always feel welcome. very friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere.

Worst experience ever. I've never had a more painful experience. The wax was burning hot. "84" She was just ripped of the strips with no care and without stretch the skin. After I was critical she then started to stretch the skin and took more care. However she missed a large stretch down one side and I'm now bruised on the other.

Upon entering the salon, I was greeted by a member of staff. The receptionist then came over (glancing at us once with a look of disdain) and talked to the assistant about an appointment without ever once acknowledging, speaking to, or even looking at me.
Long story short, my eyebrows were butchered by a girl who spent most of the time slating eyebrow threading and repeatedly saying "perfect".
I had to ask her twice if she would taper them, which she didn't do.
By this time I was stressed and wanted to get home.
The receptionist who'd previously looked at my friend and I like we were a bad smell was suddenly (and very inauthentically) friendly now that I was giving her money.
I received a text later that day asking if I was happy, to which I replied.
To the manageresses credit, she did call me the next day, telling me she had just taken over the salon.
I was offered a free head massage and for the manageress herself to shape my eyebrows once they grew back.
I popped into the salon to see the manageress so that she could assess my eyebrows and she agreed herself that they had been very done poorly.
I then went back for the head massage and again the manageress couldn't have been nicer.
She booked a date for my eyebrows at the same time.
A few days before the appointment she called to ask if she could reschedule, which I was okay with as I didn't think the hair had grown back enough.
When I arrived for the rescheduled appointment I was greeted by another member of staff and the receptionist (who had regained her look of disdain). Another member of staff appeared and said she was going to be waxing and tinting my brows. I explained that it was meant to be the the manageress who was plucking not waxing my brows, which was greeted by a look of confusion. By this point I'd had enough and said that it was okay and that I'd leave it.
I won't be going back and will be recommending my friends to avoid.
The new manageress has her work cut out, going on my experience, and some previous reviews I've seen here and elsewhere!

The manicure is a joke. I would not take that for a fiver. Imagine what you feel for £20. Old thick nail polish and incomplete cleaning on the nails and a full our. Please note this is not gel or shellac.

Have been here for a couple of treatments and the online booking process (with 10% deposit taken) is pretty handy if you can't phone. The staff are friendly and the surroundings are peaceful, modern and pleasant despite busy Lothian Road just outside. Prices are pretty standard compared to other places in Edinburgh. There is a bit of upselling going on, buy these products etc - but I think this happens most places (except the lovely Lush spa!). Would return again.

Lovely salon. The beautician with the tattoos did a beautiful job of my eyebrows. Very impressed and will be back!

Got a pedicure, and the pedicure was really nice however was left alone for an hour and the room was really cold
