The Nursery School accepts children from 3 months to 4 years, after which they can apply to join the Reception Class in the Infants School. It is open 07: 15 - 18: 00. Visits are welcome from potential parents at any time.

Queen Elizabeth’s Nursery School

In April 2012 the board of governors made the decision to open a nursery to provide children with an educational start in life from the age of 3 months.

The nursery is located off West Park Road Blackburn.

Our Mission statement

To develop a first class, diverse and welcoming nursery that provides a high standard of independence, learning and education in line with the EYFS.

All our children are unique and this is reflected in our planning and education of the children in our care.

The nursery is open from 7. 30am – 18. 00pm

Morning sessions for fee paying children open from 7. 30am – 12. 30pm

Afternoon sessions for fee paying children open from 13. 00am – 18. 00pm

FFE Morning Sessions start at 8. 30am – 11. 30am

FFE Afternoon Sessions start at 1. 00pm – 4. 00pm

The nursery consists of five rooms

Nestling 3months -1 + year

Fledglings 1 year – 2 years

Little Cygnets 2 years

Little Ducks 2 years – 3 years

Ducks FFE Pre-school

Swans Pre-school

Nursery Fee’s

Am or Pm session £29. 00

Full day session £42. 00

We accept 15 hrs FFE for 2 and 3 year olds

Dance is £5. 50

Swimming £7. 50

Early year’s foundation stage

The EYFS sets the statutory standards that all early years providers must meet. This includes all maintained schools, non-maintained schools, independent schools and all providers on the Early Years Register.

The EYFS aims to provide

* Quality and consistency in all early years settings

* A secure foundation for all children for good progress through school and life

* Partnerships between different practitioners

* Equality of opportunity for all children.

The nursery employs 22 staff all staff have a minimum level 3 qualification raising to degree level.
