About Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh

Providing professionally relevant courses, we will equip students with the skills and knowledge to build a successful career. We are actively involved in research, provide consultancy to external bodies and companies, and have links across the globe.

Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh Description

At Queen Margaret University, we offer a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the areas of healthcare; drama and the creative industries; media, communication and sociology; and business and enterprise. We also have a number of continuing professional development (CPD) courses, which will be of interest to anyone who is wishing to update their current professional skills.

We recognise that becoming a student is a big step and there are a number of factors that you’ll need to consider in advance. QMU is here to help and offer advice on a range of matters that may affect you.

Our Recruitment and International Liaison Office is here to help and advise you through all the stages of the application process. If you have any queries about entry requirements, UCAS, or just general worries about coming to university, our friendly staff is here to help.

If you live outwith the UK, the Recruitment and International Liaison (RILO) Office is definitely your first point of contact at QMU. As an international student, you will have a different school qualification to our UK students and the RILO team are able to advise on what you’ll need to get into our courses. They will also help you make moving and studying in a new country a stress free experience. If you are thinking of coming to QMU as an international student, please visit the international students section of our website, where you will find information on applying, fees, language support and cost of living.

We also recognise that not every one leaves school and goes immediately to university. You may have spent a few years working, may be at college, or may be returning to education after having a family. At QMU, we consider all applicants over 21 as a mature student and we can provide information, advise and guidance on making this transistion to university: you may have concerns about child care as you study, you may be scared about essay writing – whatever it is, we can help. Support for mature students is provided by the Student Services team, who can also give advice on disability, finance, student mentors and counseling, to name but a few.

Marcel Strangmueller from Germany has always known he wanted to be leader. He came to Queen Margaret University to study BA (Hons) Business Management. The incredible support he has received from staff at QMU is helping him achieve his goals.
"My favourite thing about this course was the close relationships I had with my tutors and teachers and the experience of doing my dissertation. My supervisor always knew what he needed to say to motivate me and get me going! Without him I would not have done as well as I did. He really pushed me to get a first class honours." I am a prospective student hoping to move to Edinburgh and study MSc in Art Psychotherapy here. I would appreciate it very much to speak to someone undergoing or completed the course?! Attending the upcoming open day, Nov 6, would love to speak and get a different perspective of the course. Thanks!

Best school I went to when I went. I celebrated my finale day of class drinking vodka as I knew I had passed and that my exchange service was over. I must thank @trainspotting the film as it inspired me to go to Edinburgh from Melbourne over other schools. I truly gained a lust for life there. The bars were amazing the weird guys I met and drank with were the best mates you can have.
