Queen'S Park Arena Glasgow Description
The regenerated space will provide opportunities to stage all the traditional things the bandstand used to host; performances, entertainment, musical events, rallies, and more. We’re seeing informal uses like exercise classes, small get-togethers of parents and children as well as the big organised events.
What would you like to see happening? Music from up and coming bands? Shakespeare in the Park? Performances by local dance groups? The School play? Screenings of classic films? We already have some intriguing responses from the initial survey we carried out in summer 2009 but we’re always ready to listen.
The space will be an asset to the whole city of Glasgow not just the south side. It will be unique; attracting touring companies and events to the city and enabling the area to take part in city wide festivals.

A wee reminder that we'll be discussing some upcoming projects and sharing plans for 2019 at The Govanhill Neighbourhood Centre tonight. If you can't make it don't worry though as we will now be holding more regular meetings to keep you updated on whats happening in your local Park.
The QPA Cafe will be open on the 5th of November for with some hot chocolates and treats to warm you up while you watch the fireworks across the Glasgow sky.

Our next monthly cleanup and QPA maintenance day will be on the 27th of October, the Day before Moira's annual Run. We are also looking for some amazing volunteers for the 28th to help out with the run itself. If you are interested in getting involved in events at Queens Park Arena send us a message and we can let you know more about how you can help!
Moira’s Run, with its emphasis on the positive, with its ethos of warmth, friendliness and wonderful support, will be more important than ever as 2018 marks the tenth anniversary of Moira's murder. We do hope you will be there to support Moira's charity as the presence of every entrant is greatly appreciated.
What a glorious day we had yesterday tidying up in and around the arena. Many thanks to all those lovely people who donated their time - Jason, Anna, Jenny, Mhairi, Vicki, the mini A-team of Noah, Lottie, Freddie and their dad. Over the winter months we'll be running more sessions at the park and at our base in preparation for events next year, email us on qpa@inhouse.scot to register your interest. And if you want to get outdoors again super soon, do remember that our pals at Friends of Queens Park Glasgow have weekly outdoor volunteering sessions too! 🍁🌳🍂

Hurricane Ali has given us a fair bit of work to do on Saturday so any and all help is appreciated! if you are free please come down to Queens Park Arena and lend a hand for a brisk clean up with our lovely staff and volunteers. Hot drinks and snacks provided!

We are huuugely looking forward to Govanhill Carnival and Concert today. Scottinghill down Viccy Road - awesome! The arena is hosting the carnival concert from 2pm - 5pm. Don’t let the drizzle put you off!

That's us swept, picked, tidied and polished after our July series of events! Thanks to all those who performed, played and participated!
