About Raehills Simulated Game Shooting

Simulated Game Shooting in South West Scotland on the Raehills Estate, family home of the Earls of Annandale since the 17th century.

Raehills Simulated Game Shooting Description

Raehills estate has been the family home of the Earls of Annandale since the 17th century. The magnificent house is the focal point of the estate which totals around 16, 000 acres. The land is very varied from moorland and hill ground down to lush pastures in the Annan valley. The nature of the estate lends itself to some wonderful sporting activities including Game Shooting, deer stalking simulated game shooting and salmon fishing.

Raehills is just 3 miles from Junction 16 of the M74 and is just an hour from Edinburgh and Glasgow, 90 mins from Newcastle and two and a half hours from Manchester

The topography comprises some deep steep sided valleys splitting more rolling countryside which provide the perfect setting for showing both good high pheasants and fantastic simulated game 'drives'.

The simulated game shooting on the estate is based around a purpose built shooting lodge where full hospitality for teams of up to 20 guns can be provided. Game days are hosted using the same venue and hospitality can be provided in Raehills house by arrangement. This can include a full accommodation package for guns and their guests as well as conference facilities and is even licensed as a wedding venue!
There are holiday cottages available on the estate and excellent local B& B can be arranged. Good local hotels abound.

Simulated game days can be tailor made to suit individual parties and a typical day could include three high pheasant 'drives' a grouse 'drive' and a partridge 'drive' or simulated duck flight. On a day like this guns could expect to fire in excess of 300 shots. Bigger ( and smaller ) days can be provided as well as loaders for double gunning and specialist warm up days before the grouse and pheasant seasons.

Coaching and instructors are available for novice or less experienced shots and individual practice and tuition can be arranged. Transport is available and four wheel drives are essential for guests who prefer to use their own vehicles.

Raehills simulated game days are run by Frank Pearson, a former Olympic Trap clay shot, ex Master of Foxhounds and all round field sports enthusiast, helped by a good humoured ( they've got to be) gang of equally enthusiastic shooting folk including a keepers girlfriend, two beaters and a picker-up / game shot. we guarantee you will enjoy the 'crack'.

Simulated game shooting can provide a fun day for people of all abilities and Raehills is a fabulous venue for corporate entertainment, shooting practice, birthdays and stag or hen parties parties.

Raehills has been described as 'possibly the best simulated game shooting venue in the UK'
We shoot on all days of the week and dates are available throughout the summer and early autumn.

A 'phone call will arrange one of the the most entertaining shoot based days you can experience.
