MILLPORT TRIP INFO
Thanks to all those who have signed up for the summer trip - if you filled in the google form you have a place!
Payment -
... the cost of the trip will be £20 per person. This covers the cost of travel and bike hire. Please bring this down on Saturday 18th May in an envelope with your child's name on the front and hand it in when registering. If you won't be able to make it this weekend please let us know through facebook or ralstonskillscentre@gmail.com
On the day -
We will meet at the County Square entrance to Paisley Gilmour Street station at 8.30am sharp.
Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for both cycling and the weather on the day. Helmets will be provided by the hire company.
We will be stopping for a lunch break midway round the island. Your child will need a packed lunch and a water bottle with them. There are no facilities to buy lunch where we are stopping.

We've been getting a lot of questions about this years trip, here a few things we thought we should mention -
Millport is a very small island and hugely well known for cycling, there are virtually no cars and the locals there are used to having cyclists all year round. Additionally, only the populated section of the island is where the cars are; once on our way round the roads are nearly 100% free of cars.
All the RSC team will be there cycling round with the group, we will ...be spaced out throughout the group at all times whilst on the island, taking breaks whenever needed and for lunch. We have over 5 hours to get round 10 miles - completely manageable even factoring in time to stop, play on the play parks round the island and have lunch together.
We will also have support from the local bike hire shop for any maintenance issues and are taking a car of our own onto the island should we have to pick anybody up for whatever reason.
As with all our trips, we have and will continue to do all we can to make this trip safe and enjoyable, parents/guardians are also more than welcome to come along!

🚴‍♂️RSC SUMMER TRIP 2019 🚴‍♂️
for this years trip we will be heading off to Millport for a cycle round the island. The island is very popular for cycling and the 10 mile costal route is achievable for all, regardless of cycling ability. We would ask however, that as a minimum, your child can confidently ride a bike.
When? Saturday 8th June 2019
... What time? Drop off at Paisley Gilmour Street station @ 9am, pick up @ 4pm
How much? the cost of the trip will be approximately £20. This includes all transport and hire costs for the whole day.
What's the plan? We will travel to Millport by train and ferry, once we get our bikes we will set off round the island, stopping for lunch at the North end of the island. After celebrating our achievement with an ice cream and invading the local playwark for a kickabout we will head back to Paisley for 4pm.
What do I need? Suitable clothes for cycling 10 miles, packed lunch and a drink to keep you going. Helmets will be provided for all those attending

In light of current weather conditions we have to go with Renfrewshire Leisure’s decision on if the pitch is playable - we will update the page as early as possible tomorrow morning if RSC will run or not 🥶⚽️
