THE LODGES PROVIDE A FANTASTIC BASE TO VISIT THE FAMOUS WICKERMAN FESTIVAL ON 25TH & 26TH JULY
These beautiful bespoke detached properties offer luxurious accommodation nestled in a private peaceful bay within a stone’s throw away from the sea shore but yet close to all local amenities.
Located only 2 miles from the village of Auchencarin and 11 miles from Castle Douglas making this a fantastic base to explore the areas natural beauty and wildlife, or just to relax and look out to sea from the lodges and you may even spot the dolphins. There are numerous attractions close by including, Sweetheart Abbey, Galloway wildlife conservation park, Drumlanrig castle, Broughton house & gardens, Caerlaverock castle, The summer gallery, Threave castle & gardens, Ellisland farm, Robert Burns house & museum, Dundrennan abbey, Loch Ken water sports, The Stewartry museum, many golf courses including Colvend, New Galloway & Dalbeattie.
These 4 attractive lodges are set privately around a large secluded bay, just a stone’s throw away from the sea shore. Outside: private enclosed balcony with seating area and hot tub, guests are welcome to explore the bay and country walks around the estate. Leisure facilities: private hot tub and sea fishing. Amenities: ample parking, towels, bed linen, electric, central heating and wi-fi included. Regret no smoking. Regret no pets. This stunning single storey accommodation offers ONE bedroom: king-size with beautiful sea views, flatscreen TV with freeview, iPod dock and patio doors leading out to enclosed balcony. Bathroom: large with bath and separate shower cubical, his and hers sinks and WC and an additional WC. Lounge /kitchen /diner: spacious open-plan room with large flatscreen TV with Blu-ray DVD, freeview, wi-fi and feature fire. Kitchen area, modern well-equipped, with wine-cooler, gas oven and hob, fridge /freezer, microwave, dishwasher and large dining table. Utility: with washing machine and tumble dryer.

It has been an exciting few months here at Rascarrel Bay Lodges with building our next Four Lodges! What an amazing place so beautiful! Lodge was was well equipped modern and comfortable will definitely be returning. Peanut loved his daily walks along the bay and around Dumfries. Plenty to see and do.
We're here on our honeymoon. This place is simply stunning. The lodges are luxury with every detail thought of. Warm and well equipped all the furnishings and bedding are very high quality. The hot tub is amazing. Views stunning. Wildlife abounds. Very peaceful, a nature lovers paradise. Thoughtful owners, welcome pack, wine and chocolates. Love to return. ......

We are here at the moment. Lovely place to stay. Amazing views and beautiful countryside. Well worth the drive from the isle of wight. 10/10. ÔøΩÔøΩ
This was our first visit to the lodges and we were not disappointed. On arrival we had a bottle of wine, chocolate's, fresh flowers and milk in the fridge. Also there was a fresh towel for our dog Tilly and some dog biscuits which she enjoyed .. Very nice touches. It was well equipped with everything that you needed and to a very high standard in cleanliness. We had the most relaxing holiday in a long time and the views were stunning . Made it more special with the hot tub looking over the Solway Firth. Will definitely be back next year.
These lodges are brilliant, luxurious and very well equipped. The views from all rooms and the hot tub are remarkable. Rascarrel bay is stunning, and so quiet just the perfect place to relax.
The lodges are fabulous. Equipped with everything you could possibly need. Spacious and high quality. In a weeks stay we didn’t turn the television on. In the evenings we just enjoyed the views from the lounge and the hot tub. Lots of lovely walks. A completely relaxing break.
Only arrived yesterday but already in love with the place, lodge fully equipped, hot tub great, view fantastic, lovely welcome, if you need to relax the place to come
Just home after an amazing few days in Lodge 3 for our mini moon! It really is the best place if you just want to relax! The hot tub is the perfect added extra. ÔøΩ The lodge is so well equipped. Arrived to milk in the fridge and a bottle of wine waiting on us. The dog biscuits and dog towel was a little bonus for Isla ÔøΩ. Would definitely love to come back! ÔøΩ
Just arrived home after a stunning week in the most beautiful remote setting. The lodges are tucked away offering tranquility, stunning views and amazing wildlife. The lodges themselves are exceptionally well equipped and very comfortable, with lovely personal touches. We had some extreme weather but at all times we were snug and warm. The hot tub is the perfect way to relax after a day's walking, listen to the sea and watch the stars. I cannot thank the McTaggarts enough, not only for their hospitality, but for their vision to provide a very special unique holiday. It make take some time however for our terrier to recover, she has not walked so much for years. We look forward to returning in the New Year.

Had a great time at Lodge 1, excellent 5 star accommodation. views and surrounding area next to none. Spent hours on the beach and in the hot tub. very relaxing and a great place to chill. Fishing, walking and some lovely friendly local people. very central to visit local towns and villages. The McTaggart's are very welcoming and helpful. The lodges have enhanced the beautiful bay sitting amongst the flowers and wildlife a credit to this family. Thank you, we will be returning shortly.
Had a fantastic time in lodge 3. Took the dog and he loved it too. Everything was perfect when we arrived and I love all the extra touches, i.e. Milk, wine etc. We will definitely be staying again. There is absolutely nothing negative to say about this place apart from we had to actually leave at some stage. Thank you for making our stay wonderful.
Had a fab week in lodge 3 , myself and my husband enjoyed the peace and quiet , lodge was great and very comfortable , our dog Harry enjoyed himself , thankyou for the wine and chocs ect . Enjoyed the hot tub , many thanks .
Fantastic place to stay. Luxury hot tub lodge containing everything you need with the most amazing view. Friendly owners who pay attention to detail. Fresh flowers, wine, chocolate and milk on arrival. Great couple of day spent walking and star gazing from the tub. Cannot wait to return. ÔøΩ
Fantastic place to get away from the demands of daily life.
Absolutely teeming with wildlife, from Bumble Bees to Birds of Prey,
Rabbits to Deer and all within a mile of your lodge.
Merging Seal/porpoise spotting with a soak in a Hot-tub, bliss.
For us it is only 45 minutes gentle drive from home.
Thank you all for a very relaxing stay, I hope to see the otters next time.
An amazing place to be. You've clearly all worked really hard to give people a lovely stay and piece of paradise whilst at the same time keeping things eco, in with the setting and unobtrusive to the surrounding landscape. Lovely and friendly owners and hard working family to boot.
