The happiest of birthdays to our patron, HRH The Prince Charles, Duke of Rothesay, who is 70 today.
Young people who are in their first term of lessons through our groundbreaking arts education partnership with Dumfries House (which The Prince saved from the nation in 2007) have this special birthday video to share with him.

Today we welcomed our new and returning students of Juniors Drama, Dance, Production and Film for an induction session prior to term starting, and what a day we had!
It was followed by our teaching team induction which was also lots of fun! Thanks everyone for your enthusiasm and we look forward to getting underway from 9 September onwards.

Tune into BBC Four tonight at 7pm to watch the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain’s performance at this summer’s BBC Proms! Six of our current and recently graduated Junior students took part: Ella, Momo, Harriet, Chris, Rennie and James, spending an intensive two weeks on the NYO summer residency at the University of Birmingham, which culminated in their BBC Prom at the Royal Albert Hall under the baton of George Benjamin. Many congratulations to all involved!

Huge congratulations to Juniors Accordion student, Ryan, who has recently won 3rd prize at the 34th Harbin International Accordion Competition in China. A truly fantastic achievement! Well done, Ryan!

Fantastic opportunity for those young people seeking further Acting training but not quite ready for undergraduate level. Taught by Director/Lecturer Jane Hensey who teaches at both Dundee college and the RCS.

Last night we were treated to three fantastic performances, featuring Juniors Sinfonia and String Ensemble. The String Ensemble, conducted by Bernard Docherty, was joined on stage by Juniors pianist, Catherine Duncan, who gave a captivating performance of Finzi’s ‘Eclogue’ Op. 10. It was then the turn of Juniors violinist, Ken Fairbrother, who gave a compelling rendition of Haydn’s Violin Concerto. The evening was rounded off by Sinfonia, under the baton of Tim Paxton, who performed Sibelius’s Karelia Suite. Congratulations to all students and staff involved!
