Re-Nu Skin Clinic

A bigger bunch of con artists I have yet to meet! I recently had a patch test carried out for IPL laser treatment. I was asked to pay £20 upfront by debit card when booking the appointment - this I did! I had the consultation plus patch test and arranged an appointment for just over 3 weeks later to have the first treatment carried out. That was 4 days ago - today I called the clinic to reschedule the appointment, as my son (who is disabled) had just received a hospital appointment for the same day. I was given a new appointment date and time for 5 days after the original appointment. Later on today, however, I received a telephone call from one of his clinic reception staff, requesting that I make a payment by debit card to "secure" the appointment! I was outshopping at the time I received the call, and I stated that I would call back later. This I did not do, as I consider the practice of making a payment to secure an appointment highly irregular. I have had private dermatology treatment and private dental treatment carried out in the past, and NEVER has it been requested that I pay upfront - any payment has been on completion of a session of treatment! Also, if the clinic choose to adopt this type of "sharp practice", then why was I not told this before booking the original appointment for the first treatment? I gave adequate notice of my wish to reschedule my appointment, so I am most certainly not prepared to pay any fee in advance to secure my appointment! I feel as if I have been conned, and I therefore will be going elsewhere for my treatments! I would not recommend this clinic to my friends/family for the above reasons.
