What a fantastic lunch. It was delicious, cooked perfectly with fresh ingredients and the staff were so helpful and friendly too.

I will definitely be recommending this place to everyone and will be back again soon.

User

We were treated to lunch here today by our good friends Pat and Gavin, and enjoyed the lovely surroundings, the excellent service, the friendly atmosphere and the wonderful food. Thank you!

User

Very pretty building, tastefully added to! Absolutely delicious food, loads of choice and perfectly cooked. Lovely gardens to sit outside and have lunch with plenty of room for children to run around. The surrounding village is worth a wander round too.

User

The staff were rushed off they're feet this eve with a full to bursting restaurant and the local cricket team in the bar too, but they all smiled and kept a sense of humour throughout!! Well done guys...food and service were spot on! We'll be back again soon xx

Pricey food .

Friendly staff. Nice and warm great views not a good choose of drinks.

Food is amazing looks great and tastes wonderful.

User

My sons favourite pub. A real tractor and swings to play on, fabulous food and there’s always a multitude of drinks to try and enjoy on the sun kissed terrace, and if your lucky the background noise of a leather on to Willow to relax too

Beef and overall food was fantastic - but as with most establishments these days service is soooo slow.

One person behind the bar when 90% of guests are outside and ordering at the bar.

Will definitely return though - ‘gaffer get behind the bar and let others clear tables’

Came to the Beer Festival on Saturday afternoon with my family. What a fabulous day it was. Thank you to all the staff who worked so hard and especially the manager who was entertaining the kids/adults with games and giving away copious amounts of sweets and balloons. Great family day out and will definitely return next year for their Beer Festival. This is a fabulous pub and food/drink is lovely, can't fault it.

User

Found the Red Lion on my travels, a nice atmosphere, food was nice if a little high end price wise but a good gastro pub and would visit again

User

We've visited a couple of times in the last month and each time the service was very slow.. . even just to get drinks. Yesterday it was very quiet and we still had to wait and remind them that we'd ordered drinks even though there were three girls standing chatting!! We had booked a table for 5.30 it was 6 o clock by the time we had ordered and we were informed that they were fully booked all evening so we would have to vacate out table by 7pm which dampened the mood a little as we were clock watching then and felt rushed. It is a beautiful place on a nice day to call for a drink but I'm not sure we'll visit again for food.

User

Food was ok but service was so slow. We had to ask numerous times for drink top ups and to order our meals...first time we came was in May and it was the same sort of visit but thought we'd give it another go last night...I don't think we'll be returning in a hurry...shame really as it's a lovely setting

User

Been here twice, first time I came (Feb 2016) the food and service was lush, so I was incredibly excited to return! Yesterday’s service was poor and the food was okay! They didn’t have enough staff working and the ones that were working didn’t seem to care enough. Will come back and try again!

User

service was sooo slow. Food was just ok.

Ordered drinks had to remind staff 3 times that we was waiting and then they still had to re ask us what we wanted. Same again with puddings we asked to order them and she asked us what we wanted with no menus and then again had to chase them up.

Staff were all chatting at till.. came over to pay they carried on laughing And joking about.

Won’t be re visiting in a hurry such a shame.

User

Hmmmm, not at all sure what happened here last Sunday, we visit regularly and have always had really good service , not so today sadly. We arrived for a late lunch (thinking the lunchtime rush would be over )

Yes it was busy but stood and waited to be seated, despite waiting for a while and seeing staff making drinks etc as well as walking past us, we were not acknowledged at all, we could see a staff member standing by the wall near the kitchen in what we call the "garden room", previously we've been told we can sit in there rather than the dining room and will be served there, this isn't a problem, we saw that there were reserved tables, occupied tables and empty tables so took a seat at an empty table thinking we would be served as usual - how wrong we were:

Just as we sat down, a staff member (first time we had seen her here) came over and said "Have you booked or has someone told you you can sit here?" on trying to explain that we had been waiting for some time and not acknowledged but it's normal for us to be directed to this area she interrupted with "well next time you come here, make sure you ask first if you can sit down or wait, I've got to set this table up now"

I asked my husband if we should forget it and go elsewhere as clearly she wasn't keen on taking our business, we decided that maybe she was new and didn't have that much customer service experience and remained and ordered drinks

Sadly mine was unavailable but had an alternative, the food came and was tasty as always but the baked hake was overdone and seemed less "polished" - maybe it was really busy in the kitchen at 3pm, who knows

Wanting to pay the bill, my husband tried to catch the attention of the same staff member who was clearly working that section "excuse me" he said only for her to step over to another customer and speak to her, waiting until she had finished speaking he said again "excuse me..." only for her reply to be "Yes, I heard you the first time" - Well if we had been acknowledged we wouldn't have needed to speak again would we?

The bill finally arrived and was incorrect as two drinks had been added for me, rather than only one

To be honest, we were glad to leave which is a real shame as we have been visiting for quite some time (to date we already have 10 red vouchers valid until November 2018 and 4 older green ones remaining in our glove box which is a clear indication of how often we are here)

A real disappointment

Visited today, we were served drinks, GIVEN food menus and then told when we came to order food that they had since decided to only take food orders from customers on tables that had been booked in advanced. Appalling service with no prior warning of change of services. Ideally a sign outside or bartender or waitress who GAVE us menus should have advised us. 7.30pm. 18/6/17. Spoken to manager who was less than helpful.
