Yet again the most relaxing if breaks. Scenery is outstanding and walks are wonderful. Best walk of course is down to the Clachaig Inn haha. Weather was the best yet with it being mid 20s. Easy driving to Fort William, Oban, Ben Cruachan Power Station Etc Etc. Clean and tidy toilets and showers and you can have a lot fire as well. We go yearly as it's so beautiful and peaceful. Highly recommend The Red Squirrel Campsite.

User

We try to get up to this amazing wee spot a few times a year and we are never disappointed....we love it and would highly recommend to anyone....a little piece of paradise . Thanks again for another great long weekend...hope to be back again soon xxxx

This campsite has to be 1 of the best sites we've stayed at. Quiet and relaxed atmosphere with the River Coe running along side the site, and the bonus of fire pits to keep the midgies at bay. We always stay here at least a couple of nights when in Scotland. Plus the great pub 1/2 mile up the road.

User

Spent an unreal few days here a few weeks back! Great policy, facilities, views and atmosphere. Had the pleasure of running into a few regulars who were kind enough to share their fire for a cook up :D (cheers again Jim and Jeff :)) most spectacular surrounding landscape...can't wait to come back! I've already told all my friends about this magical place and the incrradibly moving history the valley carries <3 see you all next time!!!

User

Perfect place, good showers, no electricity at the places.

User

Loved it! Loved it! Loved it! :) i love the idea of choosing a random spot to camp instead of the fixed style like in the rest of the campsites. Great as well that doggies can be off the lead :) managed to get a place where we had our own campfire :) i can not wait to go back! :)

Just spent 4 nights here with our 9 year old son... we have had a brilliant time and can't wait to come back in July. Weather not great but a tarp in the trees beside the fire and the rain didn't matter! Son spent his time in the stream and trees making friends, showers hot and clean, staff really nice and scenery stunning. Easter egg hunt around the camp made this the best Easter so far! I’ve just returned from a weekend trip and I’ve been coming here for years with the family and is by far one of the best. Amazing surroundings, showers, toilets and water taps throughout the area and fire pits. Staff is also very nice. Highly recommended.

User

I've read some bad reviews about this site and was unsure about booking it for the week but I did. A great decision made, friendly staff, clean showers and toilets.

Also great that you can literally camp anywhere you want and fires till 11 pm also free wifi so great in any area which is pretty much off the grid with amazing views of the mountains that surround the campsite

User

I can’t fault it whatsoever, me and my dog Monty had a great time remember the midgie spray!!!

User

Fantastic campsite with friendly staff. A perfect mix of facilities and wild camping. Cant wait to visit again.

User

Been going to the Red Squirrel for about 5 years now! Just came back today! Was going to stay another nite but weather was to change! Had a great stay, yesterday was fantastic, great swimming in the river pool! Great walks around there! Weather was fabulous, and toilets and showers clean as always! Campsite was busy and no noise! Was very relaxed! Will definitely be back later on this year!

User

Absolutely loved this campsite.. loved it so much that my husband and I left Skye early just to spend a few more nights here. I can't wait to go back to our spot under the trees, looking at the mountains. Thanks for great stay. Highly recommend

User

Lovely campsite, nice & relaxed. Great to be allowed campfires, bbqs. Staff helpful, had let them know the ladies toilets that 1 side was closed & only 2 toilets working, the staff sorted them out very quickly. No electric hookup & was not missed. Fresh water from taps around the site. Will be back - thank you for a friendly campsite

User

Beautiful campsite, lovely natural feel with campfire fire pits dotted around to use, next to the river so lots of relaxing background noise, loads of birds to see.and a ultra quiet zone too, no electric hook ups so mainly tents with the odd camper van.

We found a pitch opposite the toilet block which was a mixed blessing as the doors were slamming all evening , bit of a pain.

£12 per person which is probably more than you would expect to pay for a small tent for two but the location is worth it.

All in all a lovely place .

User

The site itself is great, we were warned about the midges but to be honest it wasn't bad at all. A beautiful spot. Decided to stay just the one night as two cars full of young lads, speeding around the campsite sadly settled next to us, between the speed, swearing and volume of the new visitors we decided to move on to Invercoe.

User

The guy in the booth when we arrived to say he was abrupt is an understatement. A smile goes a long way to make your customers feel appreciated. The new bike parking rules , fair enough but again the way we were asked left a lot to be desired. Been going there for many years but to be honest I doubt we ll be back.

User

Really disappointed that you have increased the price yet again! £12 a night with no facilities other than basic toilets and showers is really taking advantage of the amazing scenery to attract visitors. Would recommend visitors pay for one night at a time and leave options open to check out the hostels if the weather is poor or the midges unbearable

User

Sorry, its changed. Stayed a weekend and we moved the following day to a much more peaceful site with excellent clean showers and toilets. We always came to this site as nearest to wild camping as could get. Got woken at 12:45 with drunks putting on two car engines on and full headlights. White van at 3 am speeding and near enough wheel spinning onto parking site and slamming doors a few time. Drunks over on farside around 1 and 2 playing loud techno stye music a few times. People with no regard for nature and peace. Didn't feel safe to go and get the number from the hut to get night warden. So as soon as the next day arrived we moved on and continued our break away from everyrhing somewhere else and walked in a different area. Ice cream van rang his bell not just once but a few times, was there a need. So sad as we have years and years of happy memeories here. But not this time.
