The Literary Institute has been offering a safe haven to the community since 1896.

Function room and community /office spaces
Snooker Hall
The home of Queensland Academy of Dance and Redcar Chess Club

Activities currently provide include; Snooker, Chess, Dance, a lunch club provided by a local charity and one session of adult learning provided by the local authority.
