Our football fans Robert, Derek and James from Torry care home took a trip to Pittodrie Stadium last week to watch their beloved football team, Aberdeen, in action.
Unfortunately the score was not what they hoped as Aberdeen lost 2-1 to Ross County, however it didn’t damped the spirits of the three gentlemen who had a great trip and much needed football fix with friends.
It’s great seeing people continuing with their hobbies and interests whilst living in a home, the social aspect is a really great element to care home life.

Our ladies at Beech Manor put on their wish list that they wanted to go out for a bar lunch…so a bar lunch they had!
Madeana, Sheila and other staff members went out with residents to Dalmore last week to enjoy lunch, a few drinks and some delicious desert.
We can often overlook the small thing, but the simplicity of lunch with friends creates social inclusion and a feeling of companionship. Delighted to see such happy pictures.

Keep an eye out for our residents of Whitecraigs Care Home in the Scottish Sun tomorrow.
Having been married for a total of 244 years, the four couples gathered to discuss the key to a long and happy marriage.
From never having bought a Valentine’s Day card in 55 years, to never missing one in 73 years, the residents all had their own advice for us!

A huge well done to David from Jesmond care home and his amazing wife Sheila who filmed with stv and bbc today as they recreated their first date, 68years after they met.
They done a fantastic job and very much showed us what true love really is.
Happy Valentine's Day to everyone ❤

68 years after they first met, we helped David recreate his first date with his now wife Sheila, at Ballroom in Aberdeen.
Today the couple took to the dance floor and danced to their favourite song 'Strangers In The Night' by Frank Sinatra, in the very same ballroom where they first laid eyes on each other.
This is what Valentines is made for.
... Read heir story here and also tune into STV this evening to share their special moment.

Cowdray Club residents, staff and friends got together for a blether and a cuppa last week to talk about mental health.
It’s really interesting talking to different generations on this, our 98 year old resident Mary said: ‘mental health problems in families were swept under the carpet years ago and everything was hush hush. People just suffered in silence embarrassed by the stigma of it all’
The openness of the discussions made it a really relaxing and interesting afternoon. Everyone agreed that it’s good to talk, to an individual or a group, don’t feel alone.

Here’s some of our residents at Whitecraigs taking part in their weekly dance fitness class with Ruth Foster.
Recently there was extra money available from the Strathclyde heritage fund so Ruth agreed to visit whitecraigs and run some dance classes for residents.
Week two embraced the Scottish theme as they came up with creative ways of moving with dance based exercises. Not only does this help with physical activity but also supports social and emotional wellbeing.
... Not sure who enjoyed the cool down with light massage and some singing more, looks like lots of fun though.
