He’ll hate this...
Please join us in wishing Andy a happy birthday! He’s even out on the hill today, forgoing the pomp and circumstance of the anniversary of his birth.
He won’t see this till later so if you see him at Glentress today please wish him a happy birthday and watch the confusion on his wee face! 😂
... From everyone at Ridelines, happy birthday boss 😍

You’d be amazed at some of the problems riders confess to us. Here’s one of the most common ones. I can corner left, but can’t corner to the right! (and vice versa)
Which one is your strongest cornering direction? Or are you one of these ambidextrous types? 😉

So our first Jumps course at Cathkin Braes was a wild success. We had Pam and Dawn on the course today who were amazing ! Both improved so much. It’s brilliant having the pump track and skill areas to work on technique. After that, we then had a go at Airspace ! Good work ladies, today was a lot of fun 🤟

What a mega day with Jamie, and what a cracker of a day it turned out to be with the weather. Jamie had Innerleithen nailed today !! Even sent a few jumps on Matador. Big smiles. Nice work... 🤟👊

Changeable and often wild conditions on this weekend's BMBLA level 3 leadership training. Some real life difficult situations and, of course, awesome #tweedvalley riding. Great group to spend 3 quality days with #mtbleadership #jaffajerseys

Your first flying drop. Doesn’t matter where you’re doing it, just that you’re doing it! A great finale to a great private session this morning 🤘🏼

Whether you are a bit cautious and scared of speed, or an over confident loon who speeds down steep trails with no skill at all, a few days coaching with these guys will send you off on the right track. Easter camp was exhausting physically and mentally but my kids loved it (and slept well!) and by the end were very sad to leave. Glentress is a fabulous location for these mixed ability sessions. Fun was a priority but coaches ensured safety at all times so I could relax while kids were entertained, making new friends and learning too. Epic! Looks like we might be back for summer camp too if kids get their way.

User

Thanks Allan for a great coaching session last week. It was really good to get a quality assessment picking up on the basic things I was doing wrong and get techniques and tools to try to put them right. Also good to take those ideas and test them out in trickier situations. Good fun too! Cheers

User

Really useful two days with Allan sorting out my riding style and reversing years of set in bad habits. Allan also took me and my boy out on routes I wouldn't have ever found without local knowledge. I'd recommend instruction for anyone wishing to improve their riding style - whatever their experience or skill level. A good and enjoyable investment, many thanks!

User

My son had a brilliant time on the kids coaching, he has come away from it with loads of enthusiasm for riding his bike and learning new skills thanks to the Awesome coaches :-) My wife did a 2:1 coaching session with them too and also found them brilliant.

User

My boyfriend and I had a fantastic beginners lesson at Glentress today with Allan. As a result we're both feeling a lot more confident and prepped for our impending MTB hol in Morzine. The lesson started off with an analysis of our riding technique and then Allan worked on bringing the basics up to scratch so that it no longer felt like guesswork when we went on to do the trails. Had a great morning. Would highly recommend Ridelines and Allan.

User

Just completed my level 2 leader course. Andy and Allan where both top both instructors. The course was very good and the knowledge I managed to gain from both instructors was amazing. I would certainly recommend ridelines to everyone. I will def be looking to book more courses in the near future.

It was quite a swim across the sea, but so worth it. Left the sunny Netherlands to enjoy the Scottish spring (hail, snow... you probably know what I mean) at Glentress. Main reason for the trip; two coaching sessions from Jess Stone. 'She rides like a girl' was the warning sent with the information. Not yet knowing what it meant we met up at the Buzzards. Jess turned out to be one of the best coaches I have ever had. Her patience, her extraordinary good explanations, her very sharp and professional eye. I did enjoy her remarks after I’d been shredding the trail, covered in dust or mud and it went well, when a big roar would most likely been the sound to make and words like stoked and thrilled would have been said but... “lovely” was the word of choosing by Jess. It was the perfect compliment for not getting cocky or over enthusiastic and it brought me back to the concentration needed for the kind of riding we did. All of her remarks were so helpful all the time and to say it in her own words, spot on. The build-up of the session was extremely good and she just seems to know how to treat me to get the most out of it. Do not spend your money on better wheels or a new fork. First give it to Jess and trade it with her knowledge of how to ride a mountain bike in a proper way. I have to say, I still do not know what it means that she rides a bike like a girl. I do know however that I will have a lot to learn before being able to keep up with her on the trails. I will be back for more, that is one thing that is for sure!

User

I had a 1:1 lesson with Allan yesterday and really felt that I got a lot out of it. After chatting through what I was looking for from the lesson, Allan assessed my riding and picked up on the aspects of my body position that needed work.

This is what is so good with having a lesson with a decent experienced instructor - they can spot things that you’d never realise yourself. Once I’d got into a better body position on the bike, the difference in the way the bike handled and gripped was incredible - best way I can try and explain it is that it’s as if the tyre rubber has been upgraded and some air has been let out of them.....Griptastic! Feels like I’ve had a glimpse of the potential of my bike😊

Thanks again Allan.

User

I can't speak highly enough of the Ridelines staff. I've been on their adult classes, and sent my son on many of their kids camps. They are never anything but personable and professional in working at your level. Brilliant.

User

Having done the intermediate course with Jess,I felt that it was an essential set of skills that I acquired in the course. Then, I did the enduro course with Alan and it was great, and finally the jump course with Andy, just yesterday, and It was also fantastic, as I manage to clear jumps that for me was just in my dreams. The best investment you can make for improving your biking experience. Absolutely recommend them!

User

Had a great day with Andy from ridelines really helpful and patient would recommend them

User

Had a great afternoon with Allan, reminding me to relax and how to corner following an injury. Highly recommended, good for that confidence boost that I was needing.

User

Had a fab session with Allan last Friday. Tells it like it is and breaks the basics for a beginner like myself into manageable chunks. Would definitely recommend this to anyone.

User

Had a fab 1:1 with Andy this afternon. Really made me think on form and technique and challenged me hard. Just been down 2 trails at the golfie! Thanks ever so. Confidence is well up! 🚵🏻‍♀️

User

Had a Jump start course today with Jess. Really good and attention giving to each member in the group was great. Learnt a lot of correct techniques and what my bad habits are. Excellent day and thoroughly recommend it. Able to tackle jumps with a lot more confidence. Thanks.

User

Great session with Allan today. Extremely helpful and also fun! He gave me some great tips that will make a huge difference to my riding. He manages to get his finger on exactly what you need to do to improve and gives you the information you need in a way that is clear and easy to act on. His approach of talking through some theory first, then practice with feedback, then actually taking it out on the trail really helps to cement to info in your head and make sure you actually are making the necessary changes. I'll definitely be back for more soon!

User

Great days jump-start course with jess. Arrived thinking your not bad on the bike then soon realise your doing alot wrong but within a few hours and a brilliant patient instructor you come away feeling a lot more confident and comfortable on the bike

I would recommend jess and ridelines to anyone wanting to improve there bike skills

User

Fantastic day with Jess on the intermediate course. Learned loads and had me riding a couple of sections I wouldn't have considered before. Will be back after I've put all the learning to practice!

User

Fantastic 'family private lesson' yesterday. Allan was very helpful and accommodating. We split our family across 2 half-day sessions allowing Allan to tailor the sessions to the relative skill levels of our family, building everyones confidence and introducing or refining techniques. I've now had lessons from the whole team, with an Enduro prep lesson from Jes and a similar family lesson for Andy last year. All have been fantastic. Great service.

Fantastic day with Jess on the intermediate course. Learned loads and had me riding a couple of sections I wouldn't have considered before. Will be back after I've put all the learning to practice!
