Good food good rooms not nice views homely good place to stay. Pictures I added are from the back were my room was and it's still a nice place

Beautiful house with lovely arts and crafts detailing. We had a huge room with a four poster bed and everything was to a high standard, including the tea and coffee tray and its selection of biscuits. The only niggle was that the mattress was very hard! Breakfast was cooked to order and delicious and there was a good selection of cereals and yoghurt too. The lady who served us and took payment was very helpful and took the time to tell us a bit about the house too.
Very nice staff, lovely converted house about 1 mile from the center. Nice big room. Good breakfast cooked to order. Overall an enjoyable experience.
Mother and her sisters stayed there for one night, room that was booked for my wheelchair bound gran was double booked, her booking being tipexed out then wrote over, the room provided didn't have enough room to move the wheel chair into the room. No night staff available and faulty fire detectors that aren't connected to the fire service or police and the manager said that everyone was lucky they weren't burnt and it could of been worse. When my mother went to ask why my grans room had been changed the manager had to lift the booking book to the window to see through the window even though he insisted he took the bookings and then had the gall to COMPLAIN to a customer that he had made a mistake and had to find the new person who had taken the booking a new room.
Will definitely not be back.
My daughter and myself had a lovely night in the Rivendell. Room was perfect and very clean. The breakfast was excellent and the chef took the time to make sure everything was ok. Would highly recommend this hotel and I would stay here again.
