In sunny #Dundee today to watch Alannah's team play the first #netball match of the season. The final score was University of Dundee 38, Edinburgh University 20. Worth the drive over - well done Dundee University Netball Club

No big walk today as John has #manflu .
We took advantage of Doors Open Days and visited 4 historic sites. Forteviot Pictish stones, just down the road from us, was our first stop.
Then we went to the medieval Tibbermore Church, an #outlander film location (for the witch trial of Claire and Geillis).
... Then we went to Library of Innerpeffray, the first public lending library in #Scotland, from 1680! What an amazing Jacobite exhibition too.
Lastly we went to Abernethy Round Tower. After opening the heavy wooden door with a key the size of a small country, we climbed all the steps up, admired the view and the #saltire fluttering beautifully, then climbed down ... then climbed up again as we'd forgotten to close the trapdoor at the top!
I love history!

Well this is a bit embarrassing, thanks John 😁😁😁

What a fun experience today at Escape Rooms Scotland - Dundee we just made it in slightly over an hour. We were on the Black Pearl looking for Davy Crocket's heart. All I can say is, thank goodness I wasn't on my own or I'd still be there now!

Where to take The Captain for his 84th birthday ... 'Oceans and Liners, Speed and Style' - the exhibition at the amazing V&A Dundee of course. He knew most of the boats in the display and it was a nostalgic visit for him. We had a fab lunch at the Tatha Bar with lovely views over the Tay. To top it off he got the latest Manchester United strip for his gym class. He's been a fan since he was a teenager working for Manchester Liners (he still supports Hibs too though) 😍

User

... never liked that tree anyway ... #stormali

OMV&A! - Blown away by the magnificent V&A Dundee. So many beautiful items on display and superb views over the River Tay 😍 with John Robert Tulloch

User

Good luck to all the Spartan Race competitors in Perth today - especially to the girls who are staying with us!
The race starts and ends in the Events Village taking in our lovely Fair City, then crossing the River Tay to tackle Kinnoull Hill and Deuchny Woods. Don't forget the obstacles on top of this route. Spartan is a mental and physical challenge of epic proportions - especially the Beast (20km) and the Ultra (42km).

User

Looking forward to the official opening of the V&A Dundee this weekend. We have tickets and cannot wait to see this fantastic creation in the flesh!

User

A lovely weekend with our #Shetland cousin, Janette who might have gone a bit wild at the Perth Festival of Yarn 🤩

User

We had a fantastic guided tour of Wemyss Caves today, as part of Doors Open Days. The caves have Pictish carvings as well as early Christian and Viking carvings. Its incredible to think the carvings have survived since the 6th century.

User

@johnroberttulloch enjoyed a #helicopter ride today from Perth Airport. Lovely day for it too.

User

Always a pleasure to see you Janette xxx

User

Our cousin Janette knitted this #fairisle jumper and is staying with us while she attends the Perth Festival of Yarnyarn isnt it fab?

User

Look what I found in the key box this morning ... made my day 😍😍

User

Perth Festival of Yarn 2018 is back at Dewars Centre this weekend. Janette is on her way down from Shetland to stay with us so she can attend.

User

The book fairy has been again. 😁😁

What a wonderful place to be!

A home away from home.

Love the location - calm and peaceful, breathtaking scenery and of course, the friendly goats and chickens.

Thanks to John, Mary & family for your kindness and hospitality. Will definitely be coming back!

User

We have now stayed at River Edge Lodges 5 times, during the summer and winter months and have loved it every time! Mary and John are wonderfully kind and helpful people who can't do enough for you. There are many wonderful trips that are easily accessible from the lodges. St. Andrews beach, Pitlochry, woodland walks, Moncrieffe hill, and Blair Drummond Safari Park to name just a small few! We have discovered new places every time we have been. The lodges are comfortable and peaceful with wonderful views and a safe space for the children to play out and ride their bikes. We are already looking forward to our next stay here :)

User

User

Thank you John, Mary and family for the warm welcome in your lovely place. It was a great experience staying in cosy cottage with the spectacular view.

User

Stayed here for 8 weeks with my partner and our two kid's aged 3 & 1. Kid's loved the outdoor space and the animals (chicken's & goat's). The accommodation was fab and provided everything we needed, it was home from home. John & Mary were very friendly and welcoming. Couldn't recommend this place enough, it's fab.

User

Myself and my family have just stayed here for 4 nights while visiting Walk This Way UK. I must say I'm disappointed in myself that I have not stayed here on our past visits. It's a complete home from home experience with the exception of we don't get up every morning to feed the chickens at our doorstep. But I must say we will miss not waking up to the cockerels. We will definitely be back sooner rather than later. Thank you Mary and John xx

User

Mary and John always have a very warm welcome for us after our 8hr car drive. The lodges are lovely and spacious and clean and well stocked with everything you need.

Have been 3 times now and booked already for 2016.

And squirrels in trees...Love it x
