Robert Gordon'S College Parents Association - Rgcpa Description
A vigorous Parents Association maintains a high profile in the life of the school community. It provides opportunities for new parents to meet staff through coffee mornings and information evenings. It plays an important role in fundraising for specific educational items, for example the school minibus and the sound and lighting in the MacRobert Hall.
The annual Christmas Fair is a landmark in the Gordon’s calendar. Second-hand uniform is available weekly and in an annual sale, thanks to the work of the PA, who are also vital to the provision of hospitality at Countesswells on Saturday mornings. The PA also organises social events for parents, in particular the Summer Ball.
All parents are encouraged to become involved in the work of the PA, which reflects the College’s belief that education depends on family and school working together.

I’m not sure how you guys are spending Valentine’s Day, but Marisa and I are sorting through all your little cherubs’ lost water bottles, lunch and snack boxes. As they are all unnamed they will be disposed of at Easter if not claimed. Photographs attached. Also two large gym bags found in January (pic attached) unnamed and all contents unnamed. We are as fed up of preaching on about naming items as you are of hearing us. I can think of better ways to spend my time. Please help make our parent volunteers’ job a little easier. Thank you

We’re expecting a relatively quiet day on Saturday at Countesswells as the S4-6’s knuckle down to exams. However, for those of you looking for a delicious breakfast roll a special plea from Kym; please please please bring some change. You really don’t want to see Kym when she’s asked to break her fifth £20 on the bounce!! Remember we are still looking for volunteers for the rest of the slots running up to the end of the season. Brighten up your January... but hurry as tickets are selling fast!
Come on down to our traditional Burns Supper in a transformed Blackfriars Dining Hall on Friday 24 January 2020 at 7.00pm (sharp!!). Tickets are £30 per person, to include a delicious supper, welcome drink, fantastic entertainment, courtesy of our talented children, and of course dancing to the fabulous Gordon’s Ceilidh Band. You should bring your own drinks, and glassware will be supplied. Tables of 12 are a...vailable, but we welcome all bookings of any number and will allocate tables on the night. Dress code is “a touch of tartan”.
