The problem with running the club alongside our own hotel means when the hotel is busy the club has to be left to it.
That's the beauty of it, the club is almost self running. You become a member, then straight away you're free to browse deals if you're heading away or manage your profile. Even if you don't have time for any of this, your profile is always there working for you. Being hoteliers ourselves, we thought we would explain a bit about where the idea for the club came from.
We had a lovely couple stay with us some time ago, and we got chatting as you do one evening about all sorts. We discussed family, holidays, children, and in general put the world to rights! We then got onto the subject of work. I asked them what they did for a living and they said they also had a hotel in the North. I immediately felt a common ground and the convers...ation quickly became all about room rates, vat, the council, strange happenings among hotel guests over the years, and we laughed, grimaced and got irate over the hours we chatted. It was so lovely to chat about such familiar things with people who knew exactly what we meant when we talked about the life of a hotelier, and the chaos that can come with it. We especially found it comforting to hear that they too experienced staffing issues, something we have always said is one of the biggest concerns in the business.
The conversation ended that night with them extending an invite to us to stay with them anytime, to which I gladly accepted telling them I would definitely be up to see them when I was next thinking about a holiday. Upon their checkout the following day they fought me over a discount I had applied. I insisted telling them that their company and conversation had been so refreshing, and that, after all, we were in it together! They told me the gesture would be returned if I ever visited them.
They left and I smiled whilst watching them drive away, and then it came to me, there should be a club for people just like us, and all other accommodation providers. The club would provide a platform for exactly what just happened, looking after those in the same business, and working together for all our gain, a discount or deal for those in your industry, and at the same time filling your rooms too, win win!
Rooms4owners was born.
I sat and thought about every aspect of what I would want out of such a club, hence the fact it's free forever, that it's not a booking system, that there are no complicated terms & conditions, that you are in control at all times, oh, and did I mention that it's FREE forever! :-)
