🚨ANOTHER LIFE TAKEN🚨
Picture this:
You're driving down the road and your car suddenly starts shaking. You immediately pull over and your car shuts off.
... You call for a recovery truck.
The recovery truck arrives and starts loading your vehicle. During this, traffic keeps flying by you at speeds up to if not over 70-80Mph. There's only inches between you and the speeding traffic.
All of a sudden a car slams into the back of your car and the truck. You didn't have enough time to move out of the way. You are pinned between the speeding car and your vehicle. The recovery operator is trapped under your vehicle. A passerby stops to help and calls 999. Now you wait.
You're bleeding, your seriously hurt, you hear from the person who stopped to help that the recovery truck operator is not responding. Fear and anxiety steps in. The police, firemen and paramedics get there. Suddenly you feel like you're going to pass out. You awake in the hospital to find out you have several broken bones, a concussion and possibly worse. You also hear that the recovery operator didn't make it. The driver of the speeding car escaped with a few bruises and cuts. You start to get angry.
If only they had slowed down, moved over and gave the recovery operator enough room to work safely. Now the recovery operator has lost his life, you have several months of medical recovery ahead of you and the family of the recovery operator has the rest of their lives without their loved one. Again, if only the other cars driver had slowed down and moved over.
Think about this story the next time you are traveling down the road and you see an emergency vehicle or recovery truck on the side of the road. It only takes a few seconds out of your time to slow down and move over. They are people just like you. With families, loved ones, just trying to do their job and come home at the end of their day. Be a responsible, careful, considerate driver!

For the past couple of weeks we have put in alot of hard work, effort and determination alongside the local police officers towards prepping this vehicle ready for the Safe Highlander Events throughout the Highlands.
The main safety message portrayed is 🚦 'STOP, LOOK AND LISTEN' 🚦Primary 7 puplis from across the Highlands were given a demonstration of what could happen if you aren't paying full attention while crossing roads. This demonstration also shows how hard it is to ju...dge the speed of a moving vehicle. We would also like to take this opportunity to portray a very important message throughout the recovery industry 'SLOW DOWN AND MOVE OVER'. The Slow Down and Move Over campaign's AIM is to improve the safety of those working at the roadside (US) and those stranded at the roadside (COULD BE YOU).

What to expect... -Some roads and railways likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services -Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces -Probably some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths
Further details Widespread icy patches will develop on untreated surfaces Sunday evening and night. Wintry showers will also continue through Sunday evening and night onwards into Monday morning, especially over Scotland and Northern Ireland. Snow accumulations will tend to be largely confined to hills and mountains above 200-300 metres where a few cms snow is possible. At lower-levels, any accumulations of snow will tend to be quite small and patchy in nature with most areas not seeing any snow settling
