Glen is undertaking reindeer training! Make Christmas brighter for everyone. Why not donate a toy to our big red toy box? It's next to the Christmas tree - we couldn't get it underneath. KingdomFM On at Fife Theatres Fife Libraries

A perfect day to curl up with a book, or perhaps get together with friends and come see a show!

If you haven't read this yet, this is an ideal book to get cosy with on a cold November evening. Longbourn by Jo Baker may seem familiar, but only because its setting is the same as Pride and Prejudice. With the Bennets and Mr Darcy only fleetingly appearing, this is a story about those who really keep the house running. It's almost a behind-the-scenes look at a famous novel, which is a brilliant premise. Loved by book groups, please let us know what you thought.

We are delighted to say that Animal Families & Me: Gordon Buchanan is now sold out!

We're starting to get a bit festive ahead of The Flint Street Nativity (performed by Leslie Amateur Dramatic Club) this weekend.

User

This was lost near Rothes Halls/ multi storey car park on Saturday - has anyone found it? A wee boy desperately misses it... :(

User

User

Bookbug is ready and waiting for our Sleepytime Bookbug today. Doesn't he look cosy?

User

Aside from trying out our lovely photo frame and donning a cunning disguise (can you tell who it is? 😁) someone has been running around the Rothes Halls leaving all kinds of clues for our Birthday Treasure Hunts.
Drop into the library on Saturday and have a go at one of the treasure trails and try out some of the other wonderful things going on for our Birthday!

The Sympathizer by Viet Thanh Nguyen A thought provoking debut novel (and winner of the 2016 Pulitzer Prize), this book examines the aftermath of the Vietnam War and it's effect on both the people and our perspective of the country and war in general. However, with it's insights into torture and war it may not be for the faint-hearted. Our reader said: "This may be one of the best books I've ever read." and "It really makes you think."
If you'd like to recommend a book, drop into the library and fill in a card, or send us a message telling us what book you'd recommend and why.

Please everyone welcome Glen the Rothes Rabbit!
Glen the Rabbit lived in Riverside Park. Although the park was lovely, his burrow was too small for a bookcase and the pages grew damp as he lived quite close to the River. Being a brave and clever Rabbit he looked for somewhere else to live. Up the hill and across the road he came.
There was an open door and he snuck in to explore. His nose twitched, he could smell food. He found a warm and cosy kitchen with vegetables and lots... of other food. He knew he couldn't keep his books here, but it was nice to have a snack. He explored more and found a large hall filled with music and happy humans. It was a bit too loud for his sensitive ears so he ran upstairs where it was quieter.
There were many beautiful paintings and other things up there, and he enjoyed looking at them, with the faint sound of music making his feet tip tap on the floor. But this wasn't the place to keep his books either. He hopped back down and explored the last part. Books, so many books. Books with pictures and drawings, books with lots and lots of words. Enough to last a lifetime.
Glen sat back on his haunches, washed his nose and whiskers, and knew he had found his new home. This is how he became Glen the Rothes Halls Rabbit. Some nights he still likes to sit upstairs and listen to the shows and admire all the paintings. Some nights he just sits and reads with his friends in the library.

There's some weird goings on at Rothes Halls Library. Come check out our spooktacular Halloween displays in the Children's library and take home some fiendish fiction, just perfect to curl up with on a dark, dark night.

What a great Venue. Ideal size to feel close to the stage with a great atmosphere. The angle of the seating give everyone a great view. They have a great range of events and entertainment. Easy parking just outside the venue with more just moments away if needed. Friendly staff and ice cream and Magnums at only £2 at the interval (The Playhouse, Edinburgh charges an extortionate £4 for these). Even a bar.

Whats not to like.

We have just had a brilliant time visiting the Singing Kettle Exhibition! Staff at the Rothes Halls both on the front desk and within the exhibition were all happy and friendly, Happy to answer questions and get involved within the exhibition. The exhibition was fantastic for all ages! And well worth a visit. 5*, for a great experience for myself and 3kids all under 5.

User

Fantastic venue and very helpful, polite staff. We are very lucky to have such a versatile resource in our town X

User

We had a great time at the singing kettle exhibition. There was lots to do and staff were great. We came out to go to the cafe at 3.10 only to find it shut at 3.00 . It would seem poor management to have an exhibition on till 4 but the cafe shut at 3.

User

The Comicon was a very enjoyable event. Everyone, from traders, to fellow attendees, to staff, were all very friendly. Some staff members even went so far as to participate in the costume wearing as well. I really hope we get more events like this in the future.

User

Good night but was far too hot in their my 7 year old was boiling was glad to get a break and go outside for air.

User

the dolls was great apart from th seating missed a bit of the show but how ever got a free drink out of it though

User

This is a great venue and very helpfull staff, however the reason I only give it three stars is the hall is far too hot and overpowering and therefore would benefit greatly from the air conditioning being turned on that was a dissapointment

User

I was at The Dolls show last night at The Rothes Halls, the show was was fab what i saw of it. I was really disappointed, i purposely chose seats in the front row as i have issues with heights. The events staff made us aware that the seats we were sitting in had a limited view, so i complained to them that when i booked the tickets on line there was nothing stating that there would be a limited view, the events staff said they didnt know this was going to happen they were told at 5pm on the night of the show. The events staff tried to accomodate us and move us to other seats, and offered us all a drink to compensate but the only seats they had were up high and i have a fear of heights plus my friend walks with a stick so wasnt suitable for her, the other two people who were with us did take them up on the offer of the high seats but that meant as a group who came out together we were split up, just really disappointed that i didnt see quite a bit of the show. I posted on the Dolls Facebook page to let him know what happened and they have asked me to contact Rothes Halls to see if the can rectify what happened.

User

Very unorganised. Putting extra seats down the front minutes before the show started & moved people from the side into them so others who actually paid for front row ended up in the 3rd row!

User

Tried to book tickets online but couldn't book just 2 as there were 3 available so called the booking office (during the day), left my name and number and never got a call back. I called 3 days on the trip but no return call. Couldn't make it to the Box office in person during the days so....no tickets, no show. Very disappointed, not a great way to treat customers

User

If you go to see a show there don't use their car park outside went to the nabba show yesterday came out and got a £70 parking fine thanks a lot rothes halls very upset
