Rowanlea Lodge Description
Rowanlea Lodge is in an idyllic rural setting just outside the village of Marykirk, Aberdeenshire.
The village has a popular local pub which serves excellent food with a friendly atmosphere. The pub has a superb cosy wood burner and the restaurant a lovely open fire.
The River Esk is a short walk from the lodge which is famous for its salmon and trout fishing.
There are various places of interest to visit within 25 miles, there is a choice of Glamis, Crathes and Dunnotar castle, also the famous Balmoral castle a little further away.
Glenshee Ski & Snowboard Centre and the Lecht Ski Centre are approximatley 50 miles from the Lodge.
There are many routes for walks and cyclists close by.
Montrose Basin Wildlife Centre is a local nature reserve home to over 50, 000 migratory birds for those interested.
There is plenty wild life on our doorstep, deer, squirrels and many birds.
This is a perfect getaway for a relaxing break in the countryside with fantastic views across the Cairn O Mount.
This high quality Lodge has been built from Scottish Douglas Fir trees and has a Scottish theme throughout which will provide a unique Log Cabin experience.
This self catering accommodation has been decorated and furnished to a high standard comprising of one downstairs double bedroom, an open plan living room /kitchen, a shower room and an upstairs open plan bedroom and sitting area that sleeps four. All rooms are heated and the main living area has a log burner.
Well behaved pets are welcome.
Welcome packages can be provided on request for special occasions.

My visitor today is Mollie. She's a content doggie after a nice walk along the River Esk. Having a rest now while I get the Lodge ready for our next guests.
A great day out for visitors with children. A visit to Aunty Bettys for an ice cream after a swim is a must. My favourite is peach melba and honeycomb with the sweets on top. Delicious.
It's been a dreich day here at Marykirk so I've been busy making homemade jams and marmalade for our visitors. Black currant jam from last years berries that have been stored in the freezer and the first pull of Rhubarb from the garden this morning. Delicious. Homemade is always the best.
