User

We stumbled across this place out of shear desperation for some food and to try haggis. What a little gem of a place! The service was fantastic and the food was even better. It made our first fringe experience an amazing one.

User

Tasty food, friendly staff. I highly recommend this place

User

Stopped here yesterday with the kids and our dog (which wasn't a hassle) Sat outside and watched the crowds go by. The waitress couldn't have been nicer and even brought our dog a bucket of water. We all had burgers and I have to say mines was the best burger id tasted in a while (highland burger). Quick service, nice people, lovely food and a decent price. Will definetly be back when we return to Edinburgh x

User

So pleased we came across this little gem, food and service were excellent! Best steak sandwich ever!

User

Really quick service & friendly staff. Haggis fritters were top notch and mains were a decent portion size. Would recommend.

User

Really good food, excellent beer and a wonderful and friendly staff. This restaurant is a "must visit".

User

My wife and I had a fantastic meal tonight a lovely warm welcome staff were polite food were amazing. Thank you from Geraint and Julie

User

I was in Edinburgh for only one day and I planned to visit the restaurant, as the reviews were good. I wasn't disappointed at all. I tried my first haggis with whisky cream. I was a bit scared that the taste was going to be too strong, that it was difficult to digest, but the taste was delicious and taste was very good after. I also had a glass of Malbec wine and my daughter had a sandwich, which was also very good and well presented. We also ordered a dessert and it was the best I had in my trip. The portions were generous and the waitress was kind and patient. I met a couple of italians and they were also satisfied. There was an american couple and they were eating mussels, they seemed happy about it.The ambient is modern, but warm and there is no noise, it is very quiet and cozy. I hope to come back again and to discover the other mains. Thank you!

User

I love the place, the decor, the atmosphere the wonderful food and drink and the prices. Most of all, I love the owners an their wonderful staff. A place has to be very special before I take my clients there and the Royal MacGregor is as special as they come

User

I love the Royal McGregor. We were there with a large group of 11 for lunch yesterday and we were really looked after

User

I had the steak pie. Absolutely delicious!!! Very hearty meal.

User

I had the chicken breast burger and I can say it is one of the best non beef burger I’ve ever had. My wife loves her lamb cutlet. The sauce was awesome. Very friendly service staff and they kept coming back to check if we are ok or if the food is ok. Five star cosy place.

User

I had breakfast here yesterday was ridiculously amazing tasted divine and pot of tea that lasted at least 3 cups worth! All under £10 just wow, family name so a must...... I'm here again for breakfast lol

User

Had an amazing fry up and their coffee was spot on! Friendly staff and everything was very reasonably priced.

User

Great respect for the Girl n Boys who worked there.

Great Service. Best quality.

Whenever we come to Edinburgh...our first Adress.

User

Great place (as evidenced by us going 2 days running for breakfast 😁)....fab food, really spoilt for choice on the drinks selection and lovely friendly service...highly recommended xx

User

Great food, great prices and great service. Could not fault it. Great find for a birthday treat for my hubby.

User

Great food, great ambience and good selection of ales and ciders

User

Great food and friendly staff! A great evening out and would definitely go again.

User

Food was super, and to be different for dessert we had the "Gin Flight", three great gins with selected fruit and herb twists with mixers, again great value and a fun lovely way to finish our meal.

User

Easy 5! Best restaurant in Edinburgh. The menu is loaded with so many wonderful choices, from beverages to starters, breakfast/brunch, lunch, dinner and dessert. The prices are totally fair. The Servers/bartenders are courteous, very fast, attentive, and very good at what they do. The food and drinks are delicious, and the atmosphere is nice and cozy and friendly and inviting. If I could say anything negative about this place (and it's a very difficult thing to do) it would be great if it wasn't right on the royal mile ... that whole area gets so crowded with tourists and I don't like fighting with big crowds of people... however this didn't affect my experience at the Royal McGregor. I just loved it, and I would probably eat/drink there many times every week if I could.

User

Cracking little gem of a place. Staff were excellent, friendly and polite. Food was delicious and served promptly even though the place was packed. Definitely calling in again when next in the toon.

User

And what a place it is! Service is expectional and a very friendly atmosphere, in the middle of everything that's happening and a lovely seating area outside. Barmaids do this pub wonders! X

User
